@@dcrose001 Thank you! Police are not well-educated (typically high school grads only) and make approximately 40-60% more than their equally uneducated counterparts . If you pay someone enough money they will do dang near anything! Taxpaying citizens should expect, even demand, that they earn the additional money we throw at them for the faux bravery. Merely doing their job isn't cause for praise of performance of duty.
The school had already been evacuated by the time these cops entered the building. The teachers and staff who ushered the kids to safety should be interviewed.
Agreed…..School system’s nationwide need to know how their plan worked….They should however keep that information privy to schools and law enforcement…ONLY, for obvious reasons.
This was the exact opposite of Uvalde in every way. As one officer put it the days of waiting for backup are over. At Uvalde you had a bunch of different units with nobody taking charge and nobody willing to push forward, and everybody waiting for more units and more gear. At Nashville different units came together quick, went straight in with whatever they had, and put it down
Hats off to ALL the officer’s that showed up to the school and went in to stop the threat……Also, why is no one talking about why so many mass shooters (minus gang shooters) are showing up to schools as targets? Have most of these shooters been abused by someone at the selected school (teacher, peer, clergy, some other adults)?
Nothing like watching Nashville police officers taking false credit for their participation in another police active sh00ter training exercise that went live in the media........................................(sigh)
Complete textbook response to a school shooting. Bravo These officers couldn't have done a better job. Wish more agencies would follow their training when faced with these situations.
Umm, they did the job they are paid to do. They (police officers) are well-paid considering they have no education beyond high school, because there is a risk involved. Billions of people around the world perform the job they are paid to do every single day - are they also heroes? I was served a burger at McDonald's and the server was a real hero for doing his job. Absurd.
I think people whos job is to risk their lives to protect lives of others are heroes even though they are paid for it. Most people would not be able to do it
When you say it like that it makes sense. I remember all those selfish cowardly firefighters on 9/11, callously running into the towers for their paychecks. Can you imagine being that self centered?
Only cowards rely solely on the police to protect the community. It's everyone's "job" to protect their community especially children and the elderly. And only cowards leave ignorant comments about police being paid to do their "job".
