They're not really class skins, and are tied to player power... Yeah, Hero Talents are a bit concerning.

I really like this, this really explains how myself and my guild have been feeling lately, like yea we can kill a few bosses in Mythic or can do +20 keys together, but example myself I've played Destro lock this entire expansion and have been having more fun doing that than chasing the meta of "oh this patch its Afflic" but then "this patch is now Demo" I like playing what I play and seeing/hearing you in this video just affirms that playing what I want, having fun in said choices are what really matter. Thank you for this video, made me realize some things :).

Thank you for the comment, friend! Yeah, never should you ever feel like that playing the spec/class you want to play should determine where you stand on the damage meters, or if you belong in a key run or not. You deserve to play the way YOU want to play.

Honestly, I don't see the point of "hero talents" when we already have talents and this is... EXACTLY... the same thing. It's just more talents. They should've just made something strictly cosmetic. Scrap glyphs, but give me glyphs in talent-format.

Agreed, I am of the opinion that this entire system would have been better off as customisable skins for your spells. Still, interested to see what will become of this feature and how they will iterate on it.

I've never heard of "class skins" until Bellular started acting like "the community" wanted it. Hero talents do change the way abilities look, and have cosmetic effects, and I'm sure glyphs will continue to be a thing, maybe they can add more...but I don't even understand the idea of class skins, the very term makes no sense to me.

Compairing these to covenants feels like going several steps to far. Sure, there are concerns , but pretty small ones compared to covenants.

I think this is an RP server issue. Doesn't seem to matter what the system is, at the end of the day people are going to hit icy-veins or wowhead, find the top DPS build and just go with that.

They are trying to create subclasses in the game without revamping the class trees........ just remake class trees to include subclasses instead of this borrowed power bullshit.

This is nothing different then the current game. Each class has dead specs. There is going to be classes and specs that don't work and are not the meta. Players who care will switch players who never cares about the meta will continue to not care. I am excited for hero talents but accept my spec will be dictated by which one does the best. I've accepted that. Math and the popularity of WoW have killed the fun. Stop dooming all over it. Hero talents might save dead specs! Lets try and be positive.

Oracle hero talent was scrapped out not because it was support style or played around power infusion spell, neither cause people didn't like it. Blizzard care very little about such things in feedback. The problem was an implementation in the game... already during the interview weak points of idea were pointed out by players and it was just peak of the iceberg. In the end it would had to be completely flat out and turn into primary stat buff to make it work.

Couching personal opinions behind "universally this is unliked" is ridiculous. Oracle is being changed, blizz has announced that. The theme so far for hero talents has been consistently good. You can freely swap hero talents; they are not like covenants in any way. This video is fucking awful.

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback! Getting a hunch that you didn’t quite get through the entire video and might’ve missed the point, that’s okay. Quick summary: The point of this video is to point out the similarities between Hero talents and covenant conduits. As I’ve said in the video, Hero talents are somewhat similar in the sense that the player may feel forced to play a fantasy that they do not necessarily identify with because of certain talents being more powerful than other talents. Mind you, they are far less of a hassle switching out between talents than you would have had with covenants. Indeed, it is an opinion, but one that is also widely shared among the WoW community, which I think merits a genuine concern for this system.
