To all those conplaining about the 'LIMP HOME' feature in the Vida, it is more or less a safety feature in use to prolong the life of the batteries in particular. I've lived with the vehicle for more than a year and trust me, the feature will come of good use in the near future. Timing aside, i arrives as soon as the Vehicle Control Unit detects an error on the functioning of the components or sensors in the vehicle, in the same eay as how our brain reacts and tries to find a solution to an injured wound present in our body. The fact that other mainstream EV brands haven't applied the feature because they can simply not afford taking another risk apart from placing the betteries of the vehicle below the floorboard. The Vida in hindsight has its betteries right at the middle reducing the chances of a massive shunt or impact. Although i would agree that the feature may not be suitable for Indian conditions, i would be very thoughtful of Hero for at least giving a try keeping the results aside. Its more like taking some short term pain expecting for a gain in the long term. Hope other EV brands also put forward this feature in their upcoming products and concepts.
