When I was 10 or 11, I spent days making an amusement park after watching DanTDM's amusement park video, filling it with minigames and rollercoasters. then one night, i noticed a mountain with lava running down the side in the distance- and convinced myself it must be the work of herobrine. At first, I changed my skin to the British Guard and went on Herobrine Patrol, marching up and down the pathways of the park waiting to catch him.. But then I ended up deleting the world. 😭
DUDE I would love to see a Horror gamemode in Minecraft, where nights are darker and maybe there could be a few “nightmare” mobs or something, and the whole time you’re playing you can catch herobrine out of the corner of your eye until finally at the end of the game (maybe after you beat the ender dragon) he appears as a boss fight when you wake up in your bed?? I think something like this would be amazing and the amount of unique features that could be added to it would be crazy.
@@babafisi8135 Maybe first video is just like a couple minutes. I think, for example, about 5 minutes First 3 is just regular gameplay with a few cuts to black. Some time during the three minutes, I "accidentally" open the players list. This is to show that I am in singleplayer to further emphasize that I am supposed to be alone. Then the first sign I'm not alone in the world is, in the distance, trees without leaves. Or maybe just one tree. Around 3 minutes is when a house is built After a while, when the house was built, I go out to mine, closing my house's door behind me. When walking through some cave, I pass by a small opening that I give no attention to. However, in the hole, if people were paying attention, they'd barely see a pair of white eyes Then after finishing mining, during which night has fallen and I fight a few mobs, I come back to my house only to see the door mysteriously left open after I closed it before leaving. I give attention to that, acting confused. I head inside, looking around to see if any mobs got in, not closing the door yet. I then hear the door close. I turn around to look at the door, and then at the door's window (idk what its called, its the slots you can see through on an oak door), a dark figure with white eyes rapidly moves to the side out of sight. I act as if I got jumpscared, shaking my camera slightly all over the place before pausing and leaving the game and the video cuts to black before I get back to the main menu. Then video ends Idk, its just how I'd do my first video of the arg
@@babafisi8135 I replied my own idea about my own arg's first episode, but it was shadow-banned... Literally nothing was wrong with it. No swears, no bad stuff. Just my idea :c
I'd love it if he is added and is a neutral npc, becoming hostile if you are k*lling a bunch of villagers and just being a jerk or you can even befriend him and he basically just messes with your stuff, moving things around the chests or leaving odd stuff inside your base.😂 calvin would have a heart attack😂😂
Genuinely wish Mojang would wordlessly add Herobrine to single-player games, but make him absurdly rare (like 0.1% of players ever seeing him) and vanish in less then a second after he enters the player's vision. Do it right, and most people would assume any "footage" of him showing up in-game was a hoax. You could even take it a step further and do your best to hide/obscure the code that makes him appear within the game's procedural generation algorithms. And since he uses the Steve texture, there wouldn't even be a texture file to tie back to.
@@austinschwartz7424 while lack of evidence does not indicate there is no evidence or that hiding evidence is impossible, the community has very thoroughly searched almost every release of the games code and files and found no evidence of herobrine being added, that + mojangs stance on the situation being that its just a fun long running joke to me means that he was and will never be a part of the game, and id honestly rather be frightened or spooked to find out im wrong as minecraft hasnt given me that feeling since the first couple years playing.
Herobrine's fear is very simple: In Minecraft we are usually unstoppable, without other people our will can without problems shape reality to our liking, but the mere knowledge of an entity understood as another self that has unknown plans arises inconsistent with the initial idea of the unique human. Herobrine is there to remind us that the Minecraft world, 20 times larger than Earth, can never be explored in full, and we cannot be sure that in some cave, behind a valley, at the bottom of the sea or in the depths of a cave do not resent such a terrible entity in the darkness. Herobrine is there to remind us that we are not the rulers of that world, there are other creatures who want to oppose us and who create plots that we cannot even conceive. No coincidence, my favorite horror story is: "The last man on Earth lives alone in his house. One day he hears a knock on the door, END"
Don’t think that’s quite it tho. Trust bro I was there during the craze when some thought the urban legend was real. The fear is that u are supposed to be alone or with people u already know. An intruder on a safe space who u don’t know that is untouchable and not understood and isn’t supposed to be there is the fear. It’s private. It’s like an intruder in ur home. He’s not so supposed to be there or even exist
@@Dookieman1975 Yeah ur right but the fear that in this giant world there is a "person" with horrible plans that we can't even imagine, scares us. We don't know who he is, what he wants, or what he is capable of doing, and this increases the fear of him. Think about it, the world of minecraft is dangerous for us, very dangerous, but really, how dangerous? Are enderman and zombies still a big danger? No, that's the point, the thought of another being who could even just have the intelligence and power to prevent us from being free in this world that we consider ours, but which in reality isn't. I also see all this with a sense of wonder and legend: The world of Minecraft is 20 times that of the earth, so we could never have the certainty of knowing that under a mountain or behind a cave there is some horrible creature plotting to kill us. This goes some way to explaining the fact that the game keeps updating with an ingame motif: we might think, "Why have we never seen a Panda before 2019?", but in lore this could be explained as, because no one has never found. At this moment in which you are playing Minecraft, somewhere, on the other side of the game world there could be another creature that we have never seen, ranging from an entity to entity 303 or Null to the simple Snail.
I'm fucking 21, and recently while playing minecraft I got a fucking jumpscare thinking I saw herobrine, I can't make this shit up. I'm doing a base build inside a cave, and it was dark as hell, when suddenly I saw what looked like a zombie, but the arms were not lifted. It was actually just a zombie, and somehow, the bricks in the background caused the impression of his arms being unlifted. But I legit almost died of a heart attack.
Dude I'm freaking 31 years old and I've been playing since 2012. A few months ago I was exploring my world and there was this tall mountain and it went overhead, creating a big shadowed area. Right at the center there were several floating blocks that looked like a giant Steve suspended in the air like he was hanged from the neck. The moment I saw it my heart sank and I yelped. It took me a few minutes to regain my composure. It had been years since I was that spooked, it was terrifying lol. I hope it made sense, English is not my first language.
LMAO But what I went through was worse. I was playing with only my oldest brother and out of the four of us, we don't have a Steve skin and yet I swear I saw Herobrine for a sec despite not actually believing in it 😅 No nametag and no message. I'm still not sure what to think of it. It was just a lan world and only ppl using our network could get in it, but we would've gotten a message if someone else did come in but we didn't, so I am very confused as to whether or not this is real now 😭
Honestly I think the Notch’s dead brother thing is stupid. I like the idea that Herobrine was originally a guide NPC in game that was removed incorrectly and now is in a broken state, trying to mimic the player and the environment.
My dad swears on his life that he saw herobrine when playing Minecraft Not once in my over a decade of playing it have I ever seen any sort of paranormal activity in any of my worlds I still don’t believe him
To add to this in the alpha versions of the game the blocks didnt fit perfectly like they do today and sometimes gaps between the blocks could appear which would look like white pixels So get unlucky and have two of those pixels appear alongside each other and you get the illusion of a pair of white eyes looking at you from the darkness, it didnt help that the cave noises where added as a secret feature so people would hear the cave noises for the first time, see a pair of white eyes in the darkness and understandably shit their pants
@@konkura9574 I play pretty much exclusively old minecraft and can confirm it was in fact a rendering bug. its been confirmed multiple times. look up the white eyes bug
You didn't finish the quote. When he said "when I became an adult, I put away childish things", he followed it up with "including the fear of childishness".
I never liked when Herobrine was a hostile mob in peoples minds. I much preferred him as a neutral spectator that would avoid the player, silently watching, but theoretically defend himself or attack if needed. I think it's much more mysterious and interesting that way.
Technically, if you have your settings right, you can actually encounter the thing that would later inspire the creation of Herobrine: White Eyes. To elaborate, the seams of blocks in the right conditions can actually let in light from the skybox, giving the illusion of eyes peering at you from a dark cave. White Eyes never went away. She's just harder to spot now.
From the fog/end of herobrine are silly, he doesn't get me often but when he does oof. When end of herobrine runs at me because I accidentally look at him? Terrible horrible -1000/10 would not recommend. Even worse when he decided to continuously follow/teleport after me for a long while while I was exploring. Hated that, absolutely visceral reaction.
It's between Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and the original God of War for the PS2 all tied for first place for me, but that's mostly nostalgia and I respect all of y'all's opinion
I really want to believe Herobrine is real. I was playing Bedrock on my Playstation, singleplayer, and I was in a cave looking through my chest, and I took a hit of damage and got backed out. It was only half a heart, like a punch from a player, and I turned around to find no mobs. In reality, I probably got unlucky with a skeleton or something hitting me from behind and despawning, but I really want to believe it was Herobrine.
Herobrine used to be one of my favorite characters ever. The lore built around him from such things as the Fallen Kingdom duology (now quintology), novellas, vidoes, etc. made him out to be this cool dark lord bent on taking over a world where literally anything is possible, a being of destruction in a world ordered towards creation, the dark shadow of Notch. To be honest, he still holds a special place in my heart.
I remember back when I was around 7 or so in 2012 I was introduced to herobrine by my brother. I had a house next to a hill and i spotted something on top. It was probably a mob or something. My brother was watching me play because he was waiting for me to get bored so he could have a turn on the computer. I asked him what that thing was and he said "Oh thats herobrine". So that lead me down a spiral of fear and it got so bad my mom had to forbid me from playing the game for about a year or two because I was so terrified.
I wish more people would talk about the Haunted Minecraft Series. That has my personal favorite interpretation of Herobrine, and it's just a great story overall
11:30 herobrine actually does remind me a lot of the bracken in the way where they just watch/stalk you silently from afar and run away when you look at their glowing white eyes
That’s not the story I heard, I heard that notch had a brother, who worked in mojang, but got fired. He was enraged, and decided to hack some of mojangs employees to get an account (I haven’t heard the story in a very long time, so I might get a few parts wrong here) called herobrine, to stalk players in single player worlds. He got banned from the game a bunch of times, but he kept coming back. Herobrine one day posted online “stop”. When he died, herobrine was still digitally alive, so the next time he was removed, he didn’t come back! Or that’s what I heard
Great video! ❤ Remember those days when kids thought he wasn’t real then people switched to his skin and then hide name tags… (kid screams the whole house down) 😂😂😂 that was the real stuff…. But trolling kids with this in 2024 🙏 I don’t want to feel old mate please I can’t take it
10:26 I hate that he moved like am actual player would if they were sneaking up, and trying to not get caught. He didn't just teleport/vanish or fly or attack you like the old Herobrine mod, he just quickly walked back
i just saw herobrine while playing you'll really just see a glimpse of it then it would be gone quickly. i think its really just a texture bug knowing games can have bugs, but yeah idk if its really a bug or a secret feature.
Man, i stopped believing Herobrine was real when i was 16 YEARS OLD 😭😭🙏🙏 (also you look so much like Daniel Diaz when he is an adult in Life Is Strange 2)
I’ve used the from the fog mod in VR and it’s scary, especially when you add realistic mods like bird noises and wind effects 😂 Then add on the fact that, when I last played it, I had to keep the render distance low because they hadn’t quite updated the VR mod yet(which they have now and the performance increase is amazing).
I remember long ago in 2017, I had a singleplayer superflat world. I booted it up, and in front of me I saw three trees without leaves, then I turned around and died looking at something with blue pants. I also got no death message. I was so scared, I never played that world again.
Ik he is real since I had multiple encounters whit him and when I played on seed I was already scared but the fear and terror kept riseing and riseing I dug into the side of moutian when it started to get dark......then it happened I kept having the feeling something was behind me I got to the point I had to have my back aginst something standing in the Corner I quit and deleted to world I was thook terrfied since ik of you look into his eye he can affect you in reailty
Tbh wanna know what's scarier? Books. Hear me out, in the game are several different names and words given with tags to make, let's just say very peculiar changes to mobs. Tho most are just Easter eggs, I came across a few things. One, players rarely log books, witch given the time as real depth to the lore of your world and can even help keep track of things in game. Two is the "§k", this following another characters makes the changing characters in the credits of the game. Well so there always moving in the credits and we can't tell what it says, my theory is there might be a way to decode the credits or maybe even more than we relize when we Wright or name things. Cuz it's only referenced in the credits, why give the player access to it? I just recently discovered it, and have been running experiments while logging my data in my realm. you hold s if your on pocket edition and it gives you the option to change it to §. I'm not a code guy, but when I came across the video on how to do it? It really got me thinking, say maybe if you got the right pattern, word, or sentence. Would the characters stop moving ? Or maybe I'm just overthinking it. Food for thought.
Imagine if they added a feature that has a random chance to spawn herobrine far off in the distance just far away enough to be visible for just a few moments
Trolling video with Herobrine was the goldmine of my childhood, Xbox Addictions is the reason i never believed in the herobrine mythos/creepypasta. Kinda Random Side-note: I’ve had an idea of a story about herobrine’s perspective, with the premise that all myths and sightings about herobrine are true except for the brocraft stream. But i don’t know where to start with writing it. I have the story as a timeline and bullet points but just don’t think it could flow well. I ramble on for too long. Ignore this I just wanted to say it somewhere. Have a nice day to who ever see this.
Oh same!! I think of it more like herobrine is an actor for our stories. He plays out our tales of him, whatever they may be, and he knows we fear him even though he doesnt enjoy playing villain roles.
People are saying “Nothing is scarier than herobrine mods!” until they try the dwellers (the stuff like wendigo, goatman, night dweller, and etc…) I’ve tried it myself!
OMG was that the "The Herobrine Sightings" series clip at the end of the intro montage (the series was made by puredominace and the episode clip was called "The Pilot") 1:08 literally that series was my childhood
Fun Fact: Herobrine IS real, just not in the way most people would like. It's just a glitch from the early alpha build of the game. Certain conditions combined with a low end PC with close fog creates a reflection of the player. The model is Steve regardless because he is the basic model in the game. He has no eyes because those were actually separate entities and files in the game. He would move away from you as you approached him because he was an actual reflection on the fog. So he moved with it. Because only the model was accessed and not the movement animations he moves away from you while facing you and without animation. Pretty creepy to look at. The pyramids and trees were part of the glitch. It affected the world generator causing some block patterns to repeat so it looks creepy. If you cornered him in a tunnel or against the farlands he would just disappear. He would not come back unless you created a new world because the glitch happens when a new world is generated. Like a lot of legends it's just a simple thing blown up by hysteria.
Herobrine was a glitch and I’m pretty sure a lot of people who played early minecraft experienced it but didn’t see it. I saw something similar to it except it wasn’t fully herobrine it was the legs texture in distance and as I got closer it vanished
may sound silly at first but me and my friends made a realm on bedrock with a couple mods that we got off of MCPEDL and as we were playing an invisible entity would spawn near us randomly, it would start breaking blocks around our house. If you were accurate enough you could kill the invisible entity but it was most likely a mob from one of the mods we installed, still it was pretty funny to see since we called it herobrine and said he was gonna poop on us at night while we were asleep
I've actually encountered Herobrine twice though i only saw him once of the two encounters The first time me and two of my friends were just messing around in creative when we decided to go into the nether but when we entered 1 of us was missing and we were suddenly in survival mode Things just got weirder and weirder and at one point we came face to face with him even my friends freaked out initially they said they were behind some events to mess with me 1 even had the herobrine skin but this time we found the real herobrine i even checked the world it was just us 3 in it We didnt play Minecraft for a month after that though for some reason my 2 friends refused to acknowledge this ever happened Eventually i went back playing an old world and i reunite with my wolf sparky but as im coming back i hear Sparky in pain and he ends up dying. I get to where he was and the window behind him was smashed and a sign read "im back -H" I checked my friends list to see if my friend's were messing with me again but between them one hadnt been online for the last couplledays and the other had been playing COD fo the last half hour and everyone else i knew had Minecraft either hadnt played in ages, was offline for a while Never saw him again since
When I was little I ran into a patch of trees that didn't have leaves near my base and I cried and turned off my Xbox 360 and didn't touch the game for three months
I was obsessed with herobrine sighting exposal videos by this guy called themutetroll, that’s how I know about the alongcamejosh ones. And despite the fact that the whole point of the videos was to disprove herobrine and show that the videos were fake, I was scared to death of him being real anyway
I'm ngl I miss that 2010 texture pack. Oh boy the hours I spent with that texture pack right there. Watching yogscast adventures. 2010 was a blast. I'll forever miss it. Crazy it's 14 years ago.
Herobrine is just a FICTIONAL creepypasta and was never real in the first place! I am a 2012 mc veteran. I am tired of fools thinking this bs is "real". Fr.
Im 35 i believe in Herobrine 😂. Never had flying animals on your game. Herobrine literally made a sheep fly up into the sky. Instantly my sister and i joked about beaming animals and ufo, there out there. Not saying they don't exist but being an adult gets more weird things happening that cant be explain, be prepared.
I don’t know if this had anything to do with it but, about a decade ago, I was playing in my single player world and I ran across a house that I hadn’t built. This was back when villages were rare but village houses basically looked the same as they do today. This house I ran across was definitely not something I built because I had not yet explored that area of the map yet. This was before I knew about coordinates so I didn’t venture far because I got lost easily lol. But this house wasn’t built like a village house and it wasn’t like anything I had built and it had a chest in it with a couple of random items in it. I remember the items just being placed in there like you would find any generated chest from a village or mineshaft. The items were in random slots of the chest inventory. There was like two diamonds and I think a couple of tools and no villagers in sight. It was weird. I also didn’t have any friends at the time that played Minecraft so I ruled out one of my buddies messing with me.
Ya know I actually had an encounter with herobrine before it was way back then me and my brothers and sister and cousins were playing minecraft we were playing on a map called monster run and when we were in creative mode messing about a message appeared in the chat saying that herobrine had joined at first we were confused i thought my older brother was playing a prank on us however he said that he wasn't and my older brother was in his normal skin so we went over to where he was he didn't move and didn't reply to any of messages and my second oldest brother hit him However he just stood there unfazed and 6 seconds later he left we were freaked out by this as we thought it was another player but no that was the "REAL DEAL" and we were scared shitless and 10 minutes herobrine appeared again and disappeared again almost like he was MOCKING us and from that day forward I believed herobrine was real and he probably IS STILL OUT THERE like Who knows for sure
Bro I was like 8 when bedrock came out I on 360 I legit abandoned my world cus I kept taking damage and zombie villagers kept spawning when there was no zombies scared the crap outta me then :/
As one of the developers that worked on the quantum simulator of this universe. Every New Year's we push out an update. Most of y'all don't know that we update the system, but it can be updated while it is running and all 9 billion players are playing. Every update we remove Herobrine. It looks like he's somehow found a way to make himself digital and insert himself into games to hide from us. We can't delete him now. We speculate that he has changed his skin and is disguising himself as the Slender Man.
For the sake of the context of the video (I know it's just a mod), I like how herobrine didn't even hurt you or tried to attack you, like in the original creepypasta story, it was just stalking and scaring you. Felt as if herobrine was willing to scare you for one last time.
You talking about a video game character causing you nightmares and being your number one fear is something I can relate to. I used ti be horrorfied of Sonic.EXE and I lost so many nights of sleep and nightmares of this creature. I even had a phase of my life where I was lost in the creepy pasta community meaning I was scared of things like cartoon cat, siren head, etc.
