This video's title should be turn sequence and actions overview. There is way more information than just the turn sequence! It's so amazing how much information you present in all of your videos. It's no surprise that wizkids chose your channel to sponsor. Great work teach
Another great video! I just want to say how appreciative I am. You put out such high quality and informative videos. I'm always sending new players to your RU-vid page when they're first learning the game. With all the new changes to the rules and powers, I'm watching your videos to get caught up myself. Keep up the good work and I'm glad to see WizKids promoting your page now.
Thank you very much; that's very nice to read. I'm glad the content is appreciated and I hope it helps new players discover this amazing game. I'm very happy about WizKids' help for the channel as well; they're really great. Thanks for watching and commenting.
i swear your videos get better and more helpful everytime...i really look forward to more of you rules and PAC videos...ive been working to teach my 9-yr-old son and i know your videos are going to be a great teaching aide in my journey!...also i saw one of your videos made it on to the heroclix website...Congratulations!...im a web developer, so i know if something of mine was recognized by WizKids i would be super proud! keep up the great work!
Thank you very much; that is high praise from someone in your line of work! I'm glad the content is useful and enjoyable and I hope you'll have a great time with your son discovering this fantastic game.
nice video, my local group uses the 2 different tokens for each turn and before we begin we usually look around to see whos using what so we dont end up all using the same tokens. Very clear on the rules here as always!!!
Checking to make sure each player has different tokens is a very good idea. I almost had a mix-up a few games ago for that very reason (almost ended up with 2 John Jones Elsewords tokens). I always carry three sets with me, but I think I'll bump that to four, just in case. Thanks for your incredible participation on this channel's comments!
Cool advice the different color tokens! I'll keep it in mind (and buy more tokens). I think I have to watch this video a couple more times and slowly, but I'm really grateful for all the info that you give in 1 video. Thank you!
I know, right? When I was taught that trick with the 2 colors, I didn't get it at first. But once you do, it is so helpful. Thank you very much for your very positive comments. I'm glad you're enjoying the content!
Great Upload as always, I enjoyed the simplicity of the Turn sequences I'll admit I was a bit confused but you've made clear what I was thinking which really seems more cleaned up then the Previews Rules stated and Ultamatly will imdeed make teaching new players with ease, I look forward to your next upload
How many tokens can I clear per turn? Say if Superman or Hulk has Will power and just got his second token. Then the next urn may I clear BOTH OR ONE TOKEN PER TURN?
You said poison is free but can only be used during action phase, so does that mean the character can only use poison if its about to move? Lets say I'm playing 200 pts, no leadership, so I can only move 2 characters. I have 4 characters with poison. Can I use all 4 to poison for free, or only 2 if 2 characters take an action this turn?
Thank You! Me and a couple friends started playing this whenever we have the chance to. And ALWAYS watch your vids bc you explain them so well unlike other channels. The turn phase was the most complicated thing to keep up with, bc we were new to the game. can you do some vids explaining terrains. like when you want to attack someone WHEN you occupy a hidden terrain, does it add +1 to the defenders defense?
Hello Tabletop Teacher, I have question about Break Away failed. When Break Away failed, which phase is considered resolved or done? [A friend says "no move, no attack, no Power action/abillity. But may use Free action like: Outwit or Perplex. I say "Break Away failed means your do nothing, your action phase is over. You go to end of your turn]
I don't know about the tabletop teacher, but i play with the rules that if you fail your breakaway on a character, that's the end of the actions you can give a character barring a free action, if you still have one left. Action phase doesn't end if one character fails a break away, it ends when you can either no longer give your character an action, costed(power, move, attack, etc.) or free or when you decide to end it. At least that's how I play the game.
September 22, 2018 I am brand new to Heroclix. I want to use the Star Trek starter kit. I have found a group at my local game shop to show me how to play. Do you have a link to different colored poker-chip style action tokens? Thanks
I feel like I'm not understanding this. Say I'm playing a 200 point game and my opponent and I both have 2 characters. I move both my characters, then my opponent does the same on their turn. Now we both have to waste an entire round just removing action tokens? Seems pointless and like an oversight in the rules.
I'm preparing a video on that topic. But you are right, no more ultra-heavy objects (nor ultra-light); they were rotated out of Modern Age and are now a "Past Rules" thing. Now, every character can pick-up, hold and attack with light objects; only Super Strong can do so with heavy objects.
The ones you see in the video are all official Heroclix tokens you can get at your favorite local game shop. There are a lot of models to choose from. The latest set is the Avengers Infinity.
Great video like always. May I ask something about that Drax? Scenario: I start my turn on click #2, no tokens on him and I charge. According to the video I put an action token immediately on him. So my charge starts with a 10 attack, given his trait? My friends said after actions resolve I put the token, so I charge with a 9 attack. I need some help with that. Who's right?
Not quite... I will address that in an upcoming video, but I have the clarification from WizKids on that. You check for tokens when the action is declared. At the moment the action is declared, you check for tokens, then you add a token. So no, Drax would not get that +1 to his combat values until after the Charge. He'll have it for next time, but his defense his up right away, though (and by right away, I mean after the attack resolves... The +1 to defense is likely only going to matter on your opponent's turn). In answer to Ray's question, I'm waiting for confirmation on that. Will let you know when I can. And I'm told that I might be wrong on that first part as well... It happens ;o). Sorry if that's the case. Clarifications are coming!
Thanks for that clarification. It has been one of the top two or three biggest complaints/confusions on the Realms about the new rules, along with the knockback sequence and rule of zero.
So then is the token not on the character when it reaches step 2 of the attack sequence? There really needs to be some clarification on when 'given the action' is because I think a lot of people are reading it as 'given the action' is when you declare it, which would be well before step 2 of the attack sequence. If being 'given the action' is at the end of the action though, the wording would seem to have meant to been 'on resolution'
Absolutely. Beads, coins or even miniature dice will get the job done, although nothing is quite as clear as two sets of different color tokens. Have fun!
True. I didn't mention it because, for new players anyway, the possibility of confusion seems unlikely... Especially with the new Mind Control. But thanks for picking up on that!
Lol... Well, you may remember from a previous video that Jakeem was an incredible gift from a viewer, Superman is actually SR and yes, guilty as charged, I bought Doomsday and Sinestro at the Canadian Nationals in June ;o).

Thank you very much! Yes, I will make eventually make a new video about terrain. In answer to your question, no, unless your character is behind hindering terrain. I explained this in the Line of Fire video which pretty much still holds up with the new rules. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SdINjMX1Tl0.html
