The Magi show up their signs in the heavens, King Herod gets scared, and they figure out where the Messiah is supposed to be born.
As we open up to chapter two, we read in verse one, that these events happen sometime during the days of King Herod. And after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, so this gives us an endpoint of four BCE, which is most likely When King Herod died. So the events that we are discussing here have to have happened sometimes prior to four BC. Next comes the who, Magi or Wiseman from the east. And what they are asking, asking questions about a child that has been born as the King of the Jews.
