Heroes and Monsters - Undertale Orchestration 

That's the whole premise of Undertale

In a genocide run you were never the hero, from the very first encounter.

To be fairly honest if someone attacks you and is TRYING to take your LIFE AKA SOUL. Then you have EVERY RIGHT to DEFEND yourself and to kill, if you feel that your life is threatened. However there is a FINE LINE between defending yourself and taking others life. It in other words defending yourself and genocide. The irony of this is here on Earth in the WORLD it really is kill-or-be-kill. But if you do the teachings of the Bible and the way Jesus was showing kindness, mercy, and Grace. Meaning "GREATER is HE that is in YOU than he is in the World. 1 John 4:4 so what I am saying hear the Bible Passage and choosing whether to be kind and good to others even though they are hateful and mean to you versus being a jerk is how I would describe undertale in the sense of Christianity.

The important part is that Undertale tries to simultaneously model the gamer experience as well as the decision-making process of a character who could do anything without permanent consequences (hint: it's the same thing). Would they despair upon not finding an obvious route to the happy ending? Would they even care much about what the right thing to do is once they found out what it is? Would the sheer sense of existential isolation and/or causal narcissism drive them to terrible deeds? Will they grant Monsters the peace they desire at cost to themself, or will they milk this world for all its Novelty and leave a dry husk in their wake? In the end, not one of the monsters understands OUR point of view. Their world is: 1. A dark underworld of creatures that want to slaughter an innocent child and take their soul. 2. The family a bitter child never had. This child tried to save them but failed and now only offers guidance the holder of Determination. 3. An entertaining microcosmic timeline enacted through code. Will we grant these tiny beings their dignity? Will we show compassion? Will we abuse them over and over again for our own amusement?

@Minelight | I feel a similar way when I hear the Undertale soundtrack, I might not necessarily burst into tears, but on the inside, I feel a strong connection to when I first played Undertale and how it felt to me as a gamer, and as a singer, I have a good ear for music, and there isn't a part of the Undertale Sountrack that I don't like (some of them might be a little ominous, but a little bit of booga-booga never hurt anyone!) I wish more games would give me the same feeling as Undertale... Which reminds me, play the demo of Undertale Yellow! I swear to you, it's worth it, It's the most complete and sound Undertale fan games yet!

Remembering the scene at the end of Asriel's fight, when 'his theme' starts, can still make my cry at times. Oddly enough, watching it does it less often.

Marik Zilberman it’s most likely because your the one behind the controls not someone else, hence a stronger connection. But same the first time I got to that ending and that song started playing I cried and everyone around me was staring at me.

Actually, the one that was showed during Battle Against a True Hero is also the Undying. Notice ho she has the heart in her chest, the hearts in her gloves and her shoulderpads have three spikes.
