@@phillystevesteak6982 Each to their own, as someone who always had a favourite unit in HoMM, the ability to develop towns in SoC to double, triple and quadruple down on a select part of the roster is catnip to me, and max stack sizes did a lot to avert the big failure mode of HoMM, where unlimited stack sizes meant you should just eternally reinforce a single doomstack and jockey for a single decisive battle that there's essentially no recovering from.
soc is dead. player peak was on early acces release 4192 lol Version 1.0 was just 4 story missions, nothing more, and still after ea soc has only 4 factions. There are no dungeons, no swimming. Even number of player maps on their *map io* is very low and practically does not grow (456 maps in 3 years, most of which are simply almost empty etc.)
@@trezenx If there is a HoMM game in the main series to compete with Heroes 3, it is definitely the fifth one. Besides, Heroes 3 is definitely outdated in everything but core gameplay and soundtrack, at least Heroes 5 already had more advanced settings menu which didn't frustrate me upon replaying the game.
"mobile game look" is my exact same, sad thought. The graphics are a mess. Hopefully the unrevealed faction is tower, need me some more shirtless Solmyr :)
Yes. Mine as well and then heroes 3-4. I do no have bad opinion on the series overall there was better or worse additions but each was unique in some way. This one looks like a modernized heroes 3.
It does look better than 6 & 7 but they still somehow cannot grasp that atmosphere that made HOMM 3 the best. IDK what is it, but maybe if they made the design less cartoony, and made the effects more subtle?
Is anyone else underwhelmed by this art direction though? The details of the models are lost due to how small they are, and they’re profiles aren’t strong enough to define them.
Why why mobile graphics!??!? We been waiting for years! It looks like it was meant to be on mobile and the developers were lazy to change it... Plz Plz make it at least HOMM5
Something about the city graphics, which should be the main focus, reminds me more of a mobile game. I'm willing to give it a try though being a lifelong fan of the series since the very beginning. Hopefully it has a demo, or I'll have to try other means to test it.
Dude, how are people missing the fact that they have studio Unfrozen helping with this? They're the ones that made the super underappreciated reverse darkest dungeon game Iratus:Lord of The Dead...definitely pumped to see how this turns out
@@n_core Cause textures are literally the same style as in WoW and Hots, compare how map looks. It's literally 1v1 which looks awful in a game like this
"And then The Sword of Frost and Armageddon's Blade clashed! A blinding flash! Another turn of the page. The destruction brings earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, and deaths uncounted. And acts of bravery too. Just when it seems we are doomed, we flip the page once more, and countless fortunate refugees flee through portals into another world. Is this the end of our tale? No. We are the pawns of fate. There are still many pages to turn. And to all things comes a beginning."
H5 in 2006: nextgen of the series, new mechanics, modern 3d graphics, 3d towns, realistic proportions, cool decorations. 2024: mobile graphics, old mechanics, cartoon design..
Finally a modern heroes of might and magic where you can actually see objects of interest on the world map. That cartoony artstyle with black outline really helps. And no unnecessary detail to obscure items either. Very nice!
So it will take place in the original serie setting of Enroth. My question is: will it be truly the old science-fantasy or a revamped pure fantasy one ?
Yes one of the most focus it got the devs said! Every H3 random map styles and template will be there and more! Also template and map editor ! Also maps for only 1 hero or for 10 heroes! Also maps with more artifacts, less creature banks and dwellings or reverse!
