Heroes of Might & Magic 5 Dungeon Town Theme Animatic (2005, Ubisoft/Nival) 1080p HD Animated 

Yeah, the architecture of these towns are very creative. It shows the gorgeousness and prosperity of the factions. Dungeon constructions are built on the ceiling of the underground with the dim light of crystals. Sylvan constructions are built around the sacred tree of life which is elves' source of life and mana. Academy constructions are flying in the air, show the mystery of magic. Haven is like a large and wealthy capital...blah..blah... I'm very dissappointed that in H6 and H7, they didn't invest much in town scenes like H5. Even H3 town scenes are waaaay better than H6 and H7.

Nah, they are far from that level of barbarity (maybe with an exception of soulscar clan) They also seem to prefer to act in way more subtle way. While druchii often resolved their conflicts on the open battlefield, ashan dark elves prefer to stay in shadow and harass their enemies with surprise attacks, powerful magic and poison

​@@kamilkozowski105Yup. They are far more civilized than WH Dark Eldar. They have quite well developed diplomacy and trade relations with Silver Cities, and surprisingly, with Irolan to small degree - they buy sapplings to grow trees. As downside, they have a bit of a slave trade, but honestly, most factions do: Inferno has slaves for mining ore, blood sacrifice, and as food for their hounds, Academy also uses slaves, Orcs have slave trade, Falcon Empire used to have orc slaves, and Necropolis... well, they have eternal slavery even beyond death. Only Sylvan and Dwarves don't have any, as far as I'm aware.

@@grzegorzflorek5623 Yep, they have slaves. But as far as I can tell, a smart slave can become a really important person in their society. Some enslaved minotaurs even became generals of dark elf armies. And let's be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if more attractive slaves also gained significant influence during pillow talking. I mean, Ashan DE society is most of all a ruthless meritocracy. Competence is rewarded, but even a small mistake may lead to a spectacular downfall

before part five Dungeon wasn't about dark elves though. and first warhammer came out in 1983.

It's just as low poly as the rest. Good diffuse textures + normal maps made all the difference.

It's a magic world. Why do you think the whole city of Academy can literally float in the middle of the sky ?

Not sure what you mean by 'own faction separate from dungeon' because dungeon is mainly a dark elf faction.

Art - In the Ubisoft version it is mainly the Dark Elves that represent the Dungeon, however. The dungeon overlords from previous games aren't really part of the 'current' might and magic lore. I personally like the way the Dark Elves are in 5 and 6 (Let's not talk about 7), and I struggle to find the image of them contesting their role of cruel underground slavers with another similar race appealing.

I think they're alright, but my problem with UbiDungeon (at least in 5) is that there are a few too many elf units. 2 or 3 is fine, but having a fourth unit that's just another kind of dark elf took up a slot that a more exotic creature could've filled. Keep the Scouts, the Blood Maidens and the Dark Raiders (Clever Girl dinosaur cavalry is more than welcome to stay), but instead of just a witch with a whip (yawn), they should have brought back the Medusa. Have her be a strong ranged attacker with Stone Gaze like in 3, then have her upgraded version include a spellbook. While HoMM 6 had a lot of flaws, it made the sensible choice to have more weird monsters and have only 2 elfy units in Dungeon. Also, while I kinda like the direction Ubi took with Fortress (before it was just a more swampy kind of Dungeon) by making it dwarfy, HoMM 5 had too many dwarves in its Fortress. And again, while I've never played HoMM 7 (I don't want to give uPlay the time of day), Fortress in that game made the smart decision to have less dwarves and more cool beasties. (plus Kobolds look like guinea pigs now, which I am totally ok with)

@@walimywiadro429 Heroes 3 dungeon was heavily inspired by Greek mythology. Heroes 5 is inspired by latex and BSDM.I'd rather if Dungeon was inhabitated by creatures that actually loook like subterrenian race and not fetishists.
