This time on MonarchsFactory I am very nervous and excited to share with you this massive DMs Guild supplement I've been working on with Jeremy Melloul! 12 Theros specific subclasses, 2 narrative focused PC backgrounds, 14 NPCs to drop into your game as allies or enemies, plus other stuff - basically 50 pages of wall to wall content.
Timestamps:
00:00 - Supplement overview
02:33 - Bard, College of Tragedy
04:58 - Cleric, Journey Domain
07:00 - Monk, Way of the Rage-Crowned
09:00 - Paladin, Oath of Atonement
09:56 - Rogue, Tactician
11:26 - Warlock, Forgotten God Patron and Pact of the Cauldron
15:35 - Outro
It's been a busy project, but I hope you enjoy it. :)
Jeremy's video is here! • Heroes & Villains of T...

If I had a nickel for every time *that time Heracles went crazy and murdered his whole family* inspired a part of this book, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Herakles often applied the problem-solving skills of a Rogue also. And was also quite good with both STR and DEX weapons, so maybe not a stellar example of low-level play. WIS is the only stat I can't recall him using very well.

As soon as you finished describing the Journey Domain I immediately threw money at the screen. The domain spells, guiding light, the extra movement. @@DaDunge The feat system in D&D 5e is certainly not "broken". Taking a feat is a very high cost because it takes up one of the few ability score improvements most characters get over the course of most campaigns. And if you're playing a Fighter or Rogue that gets high enough in levels to really benefit from their extra ability score improvement(s), you'll sorely need them to be even half as useful as most full spellcasters at those levels. Overall, the feat system in 5e is great, far from "broken" and sorely needed to give martial characters variety, flavor and especially usefulness at higher levels.
@Nr4747
@Nr4747 4 года назад
@@DaDunge Yes, and like I've already pointed out, those "broken" combos are completely neccessary for martial classes to compete with full spellcasters at higher levels.

At 17th level? Honestly, if opportunity attack lockdown is a major encounter-solver at 17th level then every spellcaster in the group presumably went off to lunch at the time (right after casting enlarge). It's definitely *cool* though!

i think for the cauldron pact boon, if you could infuse ritual spells only into potions/poisons would be a cool and thematic use of such a feature. you could give your party rogue a poison of silence to coat their blades, or throw down a potion that contains the effects of leomund's tiny hut. you could infuse ink with the illusory script spell and mage the writing on the page appear to coil and shift on its own to whoever hasn't drank the potion or have access or the cipher. gentle repose is literally embalming fluid. you could brew a dual potion of telepathic bond, those who sip from the same vial suddenly find themselves able to share their thoughts. or a potion of instant summons could be anointment oils applied to the object and after you ingest or apply the oil, you can summon the object at your leisure. this is one of the first times iv'e genuinely been so excited about the rp possibilities to the same degree as mechanical abilities.

Odysseus is the perfect rogue basis '.' & atonement features pretty heavily in fair few myths, or rather being chased by furies to the point of insanity and then begging the oracle for a geas to atone or something '.' I think it works rather well for the questing hero archetype in such a setting. Theseus is the go to wrestler to me from greek myth, first big win is the lift and smash on the ground dead & the biggest thing is wrestling down the minotaur.
