Has stood the test of time

It's an amazing song, well before it's time. Lou Reed does an awesome version on his rock n roll animal album. You should definitely check it out.

Up until this time in music, I don't think anyone had experimented with distortion quite so effectively, but for John Coltrane......if you listen to Live at Temple University, also recorded in 1966........you will see what I mean.

Dave Navarro performed Heroin solo, just him and an electric guitar, when I saw the RHCP One Hot Minute tour in the 90s and he was amazing.

Definitely evokes the experience of heroin. The other song I feel nailed it was Comfortably Numb - two different sides of the drug.

I think the first part is about the peaceful high & the second part ks about the crash, or the hell of withdrawal (no one hold me to that, lol, idk, im just guessing)...idk, i never really did smack except when i had my wisdom teeth taken out, & i got some really good pills back when they gave opiates for that, lol.....anyway, lou did the heroin so you or we wouldnt have to....so, look at it that way, or "relate" to it that way, but i know and hear exactly what ur saying.
