My brother in law was culling the last fish so the boat is technically allowed to have two rods in at the same time.

What’s the reasoning for throwing topwater all day or is it more of a morning thing? Even with sunny sky

Herring are nomadic and pelagic baitfish, they feed on plankton, plankton use photosynthesis to grow and multiply. So when it’s sunnier the herring move up in the water column and the fish feed near the top. Herring lakes are almost exact opposite compared to other traditional bass lakes.
