WooHoo!! I could never get this stitch- my brain just would not compute. I have just finished 3 nice rows and on the middle row I even attempted the double herringbone with fabulous success. Thank you Sarah 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇦🇺🦘

Thank you Sarah and Jonathan for your video. Oh my goodness I have never seen this stitch in such beautiful configurations as those borders. Or perhaps I should say I never realised /recognised the stitch that formed the base. I look forward to trying these out. I am so enjoying slow stitching in hand and going with the flow, less formal than my crewel work panel. It is just nice to change back and forth depending how I feel.

I also use herringbone stitch to hem garments is I do it by hand, particularly cotton fabrics. I love your poscast and I am enjoying the Stitch series. My problem stitch is French knots, I always have a problem with them. 😊👍

I love to mix it up, embroidery stitches on cross stitch fabric and cross stitch stitches on embroidery/slow stitch projects.

I just wanted to say I’ve been into Cross stitch and got so involved in that but I saw you again and realized I miss Embroidery stitches… thanks. I will start the Slow stitch sampler of yours ❤️💯

I recently used the herringbone stitch to hem a kitchen towel, using variegated floss and it's charming and easy.. I did use a water removal marker to mark the stitch intervals but it was worth the time involved.

A stitch I keep avoiding because I'm never satisfied with how it looks when I've done it. Practice, practice, practice I can hear you saying 😂 and of course you're right. Love your videos.

I'm left handed. So sometimes learning a new stitch from someone who is right handed can be a challenge. I love herringbone stitch. But I have never seen the variations. Very cool. I would like to try them. Thank you

Thanks so much for showing all these stitches. It's soooo much easier seeing them done rather than following written instructions! 😊 I just caught your sampler videos not long ago. I hope to go back to the first and do my own sampler as a guide to go back to. 😊❤😊 I love your videos!

I do cross stitch too and the variations you showed at the end would make wonderful borders for it. Thanks for the video.

Freestyle imperfections are the best in more beautiful, because it’s in its natural state. I don’t like to really draw lines and following my pretty much like to let everything go it’s natural thing.

Hi Sarah, thank you for all of your content. I enjoy it all so much. I do have a question. What encouraged you to attend Academy? I don’t recall (if you mentioned) how long of a commitment it was. Did you attend with an end goal of self improvement or to make a career out of handwork? For one, I am glad you attended.

Thanks for today's video, Sarah. I'm thinking that the herringbone stitch look quite like the long armed cross stitch. Are these basically the same stitch? Or is there a difference in how they are executed when working row upon row or column by column? Thanks!
