Most people did, almost all future protagonists who see their past selves also do the exact reaction, though like comments above. It's more on she had truly go far from her initial dream. That, and seeing Younger Kiana nagged her future her seemed like an older sister relationship XD

Kianas conversation with Himeko just how much of a good surrogate mother she was to kiana and the girls. Which made her sacrifice all that painful because Himeko was the closest thing to a constant family for kiana
hof talking to her past self is Mihoyo flexing how good they handle character developments, I mean kiana's development from white comet to Hov to vd and now to hof is a character development that even most anime shows failed to do
Yea exactly and other video games failed to do, I mean there are some anime/video games that poorly written female characters, but hi3 handle the writing of the story and female characters very well
I'm not even gonna deny that conversation with Himeko has me crying. Mihoyo has got to mean "writes sad stories" in some unknown dead language somewhere because good grief Honkai Impact is amazing at kicking me right in the heart.
She knows what would happen and seeing her past self being this happy makes her sad that she, her past self will also soon experience the same tragedy And to rmb her old dream to become the strongest valkyrie, she did become the strongest valkyrie atm who can defeat a Herrscher, altho not alone but still did deal most of the fight and the finishing blow, but the irony of her ideals that everyone would be saved if she became the best But she became strong only because she lost Himeko and was time and time agn nearly losing other ppl as well She didn't become strong to change circumstances, she became strong due to circumstances changing her, which isn't what she wanted, but now she can still change what is still here But ultimately, she still rather tread this path even if she lost Himeko, cuz she has learnt to become strong and not take it for granted and truly fight with her hardest to protect what is left of her ideals and precious joy compared to being stuck as her ignorant blissful self who still had everything before things went very wrong since she wouldn't want to lose more than what she has alr lost It shows her determination and confidence to finally move past her regrets and pain she had in the past such as seeing herself killing Himeko with her own two hands, even if it's was Dark Sirin, they are one and the same. As shown with HoFS at the end of the cutscene where this time Himeko was no longer standing in front or walking past her to show that Kiana was still holding to lingering regrets that she wished that Himeko would still be there for her and to protect her when she is down Now she is beside Kiana and smiled while fading away knowing that she has all but grown up and can finally handle herself now to go forth without regrets

I' seen the himeko one so while it still hurt, I've healed from that wound but old kiana talking to her younger self hurt my soul geezes, but also damn it really shows and puts in perspective how far kiana has come, even with the different mannerisms of how she speaks now to then, I really gotta praise mihoyo for having the forthright to have these little conversions worh the dorm chibis, they didnt have to go this far with details but I'm glad to they did
I love how HoV is just walking around while kiana is having this moment with himeko and I’m just thinking “b*tch don’t just walk around and stare blankly like that, this is all your fault”
Talking to the past is sad, especially since it reminds everyone of how naive they were in the past and unfulfilled dreams and life of regrets plus the sacrifices they made n wondering if they made the right choice
Oh god...just....hof Kiana being with past Himeko...it is heartwarming and tearjerking cause she knows what is gonna happen. So she is using the time she has to be with Himeko one last time...why...why must MiHoYo torment us like this... And talking to her naive past self is tearjerking as well...

I found Kiama to be quite annoying at first when I played the game She was irritating and kind of stupid which ticked me off. Seeing her grow was into a mature person while great as her character is much less 2D is also very tragic as she loses some of her happiness by doing so. But Like in real life, you have to grow and move on and while things can get worse, there’s also a chance things can get better
