For more than 200 days after Hersh Goldberg-Polin was taken hostage by Hamas on Oct.7, his mother hadn't heard his voice or seen video that proved he was alive. But that changed this week, when Hamas released a propaganda video showing Hersh - an Israeli-American - alive with his left arm amputated. CBS News' Debora Patta sat down with his mother, Rachel Goldberg-Polin, to ask about the "overwhelming and emotional" moment she saw that video and how she hopes all parties involved can reach a compromise to end the suffering.

I am so sorry to her, her son, and everyone who has been taken as hostage, killed, or left unheard from forever, their families suffering because of the unknown. I am so sorry. This needs to stop! People live such short lives and some people are impatient and want to amass as much wealth as possible in as short a time as possible. Even Kushner was salivating at the development possibilities on the Gaza seashore. That's untrue. In the first place Gaza was under Egyptian control and the West Bank under Jordanian control till the war of 1967. Secondly, as long as your children don't turn to terrorism they are not in any danger. As a Palestinian mother you should keep your children away from terrorism instead of encouraging it and praising martyrdom.

My heart goes to all innocent civilians losing their lives for commercial interests. UN report - underage Palestinian children held in Israeli military prisons as young as 11 years old. No parental contact and many held without charges or being convicted of anything for months or years. It takes parents up to three years to see their children again b they are taken out of Gaza and they cannot cross to Israel. Before this, 55% of Palestinians were children age 18 and younger. Si, who are they murdering? children & women.

The day Hamas kidnapped them they contacted Israel's government to negociate and Netanyahu said wouldn't negociate with"terrorists". As Israel was already bombing and Israel didn't want to negociate, Hamas asked Israel for a ceasefire and they would release all people without negotiation but Netanyahu didn't want. Probably they didn't tell this in Israel.
