Hetalia 1800 - The Age of Beginnings and Ends [Tracon 2012]

Our performance with subtitles is finally here! We performed in Tracon VII event in Tampere, Finland, in September 8th 2012 and the auditorium was nearly full - even though our previous performance was popular, this one won clearly!
The 19th century was the era of Napoleon, Queen Victoria, the German Empire, the British Empire, and European dominion. Old regimes fell and new countries rose from the ashes of the old. How did it all happen and to where did it all lead? That will be told to you by the cosplay group Rintamasuunta.

I can't get over how quality that Ottoman Empire cosplayer is I mean his/her cosplay is absolutely amazing! So's everyone else's, the Ottoman Empire just sticks out to me because it's not something people typically cosplay.

This performance tried to stay faithful to actual history and the Hetalia series as a whole. And since the series portrays Austria and Hungary as lovers, we did the same (although we did show that Hungary rebelled against Austrian rule in 1848).

That was great! There was a lot of great information, and there wasn't any opinions or nationalism as some of these Hetalia performances contain, just straight out history and comedy like it should be! I hate to admit it, but I think you did even better than Hetalia itself with your portrayment of history, that's how great it is! I hadn't realized France had this much power in the last few centuries. Brilliant!

That wasn't forgotten. We actually had Belgium & Netherlands in our script, but there was many misfortunes (for example some Russia problems: our Belgium had to change her role) so we had to leave them out. It was a real pity, but we certainly gave them a thought. - South Italy (from the performance)

True, that was also said in the subtitles. We had Norway when we started practicing and originally Sweden was supposed to take Norway away from Denmark. But due certain events our Norway had to leave the group and we didn't found new cosplayer to fullfil that role. So in the end, it was just Sweden taking Denmark away, ruling him now etc. But like Den would ever listen to Swe!! >D -Denmark-

There's this store in Finland called Varusteleka from which we got most of the flags. Some were bought from Ebay. :)

Thank you for your feedback. :) Although we tried to be historically as neutral and accurate as possible, some things might not be that free of opinion (one such thing is the showing of the Soviet flag alongside the Third Reich's flag). However, we did strive to be accurate and mindful of facts. Nobody is free of their own background and history, though.
