What if Kiku was actually the one who was shot? Mattie pulled his gun really quickly at the last second. Perhaps he shot over Alfred's shoulder, saving his life. ...I like that ending better.
Okay so I looked up the English translation to the songs. Eye Examination is about one wanting their significant other to see their true side. Torinoko City is about one needing their other to say with them. The two are split and are having trouble staying on good hands, but they really want to, but Japan hops in on the situation and tries to pull America further away from Canada, as you can see his mischievous smile in the beginning. He wants the two to kill each other, basically. But as he watches from aside that the two give up on their confrontation, Japan takes it into his own hands to kill America. I don't know if the video has any historical significance, but that's what I see from this.
Here's the explanation: *In this PV, the F.A.C.E(In case you didn't know, its France, America, Canada and England) family and Japan work as hunters/cops or bounty hunters, etc.They are involved in hunting down people who betrayed them, etc, for revenge or something.* The first scene(opening with the song and model credits in Japanese) showed America and Canada.At one point, both of them opened their eyes(or, staring at the viewer)- but in a really hesitated/regretted manner.Another point, America looked to the bottom left corner while Canada looks at him by the corner of his left eye with pity and somewhat sadness, signing something. The second scene shows France, England and Canada singing different verses at different times.France is shown wearing a black jacket, white blousse(inner shirt) and a black tie.England is shown wearing a black jacket, white blousse similar to France's, but with a red tie.He is also wearing a single ear stud shaped like a small red rose with its leaves.Canada is shown wearing a black jacket, purple blousse, and a black tie.Then, it shows Canada pointing a gun at something, or rather, *someone*. The next scene shows America in a stressed state, putting his right hand on his forehead, and the free hand is balled up into a fist and is punched/pushed against the wall.He is wearing the same jacket and blousse as England and France, but the only difference is the tie which is dark blue(similar to Hetalia Academy's blue from the winter sweater male uniform).His eyebrows furrow into a pity-like look.Japan then appears behind him.He wears the same jacket, blousse and tie as England.As Japan sings(to be exact, lypsyncs) the lyrics behind America, he narrows his eyes in a playful way.He smiles evilly-- Signalling something bad.But- little did they know; Canada was at a very tall building watching them. The scene where it shows Canada's back facing the viewer, it shows a 'ghost' of America's head, looking up like he knows someone is watching.The building together with Canada disappears and then shows the blue sky.Japan appears, lypsyncs the lyrics, then it shows he narrows his eyes at America. The next scene shows Canada with a soldier doll, the one similar that America has when he was still young and was still taken care of by England.America holds the same one.He then 'stares' at the viewer singing something in Japanese: "My heart is sealed" or "(This feeling of)Hesitance is in my heart" [Rough translation].A 'ghost' of France appears amd he sings in Japanese: "Su kono nai sekai?" or, in roughly translsted English, "What is this life for?"The 'ghost' of England appears and shows that he sings: "Suku reta sekai" or "This life is useless". The next scene shows Canada pondering to continue working as a hunter or not.He reaches out to the soldier. Japan is showed facing America and America hesitates. Canada chooses to continue as a hunter. The next scene shows that it is raining, America's back leaning agains a brick wall, slid down to a sitting position.He holds a wooden soldier in hand.Note that he did not use glasses.Japan then comes with a umbrella, sheltering America from the rain. Also, I have a feeling that America teamed up with Japan. All this shows that Japan wants America and Canada turn on each other, resulting their brotherly relationship to end up broken, and either one killed.He does not want to do it, as he will get his hands dirty with blood. The next scene shows France, England and Canada.Canada seems to stare out of the window, worried about something.What?He is worried about America. America is then at Japan's team base or at his house, sad or mad at something.Japan is then showed down there, looking up at the balcony.He seems to be worried. Japan is worried about his plan that might backfire because America and Canada's sibling bond is quite strong. Canada is showed in the next scene stressed.England says(sings) a line and Canada shakes his head in more stress.He looks down in regret. America is shown 'staring' at the viewer in a rather angry manner.He then looks to the right. (Skipped some scenes) A pocket watch and a wooden soldier is shown on the floor.Those belong to Canada.He regretted working as a hunter. (Skipped) It showed that Canada stands at a tall builing watching something. (Skipped some scenes) A scene shows Chibi America and Canada playing with the wooden soldiers.(Sidenote! When England was taking care of America when he is young, at certain times Canada will come.) And then, the final scene.America runs to the spot Canada is.Then, it shows Canada and America pointing a gun at each other..But, America points his gun down.That shows hesitance.He smiles at Canada with joy and pity jumbled up.Canada too puts his gun down, and America walks forward.He shouts to America to 'look behind' (see reaction) and Japan shoots America.Japan shot America due to him not following his plan. -- So in theory: There are 2 teams. TEAM 1: Canada, England and France. TEAM 2: Japan and America. Japan wants either Canada and America to die, so that he will join team 1 and act like it was not his plan.Multiple times failed.The last time, he shot America on accident while aiming at Canada.England and France was however, aware.
I have a transcript for the [very rough] translation of this mash up song specifically for this video. The story is that somewhere in their friendship Matthew broke away from Alfred for a either mercenary or mob life. Even so, he struggles with choosing between the job and his love. Kiku took in Alfred and helped him just to get Matthew back, BUT [Theory] Kiku was the 2nd gun at the end that suddenly caught their attention and America is in the middle (just like he was throughout the video)
Okay, here's what happens, the two of them were really close as kids but for whatever reason France and England like disowned America and so Japan took him in. So the two of them are trying to find each other again but learn that they're part of enemy mobs or whatever, so they're forced to have to kill each other but they can't. So then England was about to kill America and Canada tried to warn him but it was too late so he got shot.
So, for the whole 'theory' that Japan was the 'second' gun at the end... Its really hard to do, but pause it on 4:20. There's an image of Japan with the gun, pointing it. It's not Canada or America because the clothes are wrong, and besides, they wouldn't have been able to pull up their own weapons fast enough, although Canada was close. at 4:21, we see America start to turn around, and Canada still has his gun pointed down, although he's raising it. There forth, there was officially a third person with a gun there, and given the clothes, it's safe to assume Japan. As for who was shot/killed... Who knows. Its a glass half full/empty situation. Half full, Canada raised his gun up fast enough and shot over America's shoulder and shot/killed Japan. Half empty, Japan (who we know already had his gun up and pointed at America before Canada even raised his) shot/killed America. Personally, I would think the half empty situation simply because Japan had the gun already out and pointed, but then again, Canada was a professional hunter, and there must have been a reason Japan tried to get them to kill themselves... so maybe Japan waited long enough for Canada to shoot him. Who knows?

At the end I'm like "WAIT WHAT? WHO GOT SHOT?! CANADA DID YOU SHOOT YOUR BROTHER?!" then I look at the comments and I'm like "WOOO! I gotta tell my friend that someone used Phoenix Wright references! Oh, and JAPAN SHOT AMERICA?! WTH?!?!"
TBH, I'm not sure about the story of the video. But maybe the song lyrics might help? You can google "eyesight test gumi lyrics". I went back and checked. It definately was not Canada who fired the shot. When the gun was raised again, the owner of the gun had on a white shirt, with a dark tie. The only characters like that are France, America and Japan. The hair wasn't long enough to be France's (or Canada's). That means, the only suspects are either Japan or America. (I can't understand the lyrics, so maybe there is evidence saying it's not America, but if not, it's possible that America shot Canada.)
Englands tie is bright red and japans tie is a dark almost black red.if you look closely at the tie,you can see the red tint in it so It was japan who shot america.you were right about it not being france or america but it was actually japan
Objection! The person holding the gun had a RED tie and a WHITE shirt. Mr.Williams was wearing a BLACK tie and a PURPLE shirt. According to the evidence, there are two possibilities of who it could be: Kiku or Arthur. However, Arthur's suit is lighter than the one shown at the end. Plus he was a backup singer, so that would just be silly. My bet's on Japan :P ((too much phoenix wright))
Yeah that's true. But I closely observed that part near the end and It kinda looked like he made that face for a distraction for America to turn around so he can shoot him, because when he turned around you can see that it looked like Canada pointed up his gun. But probably not, idk I'm a really observant person. XD
I wonder about their relationship... Are they siblings or friends or even lovers? (Considering other Hetalia theories about those two and the songs used). Depending on that relationship, this whole plot could be changed. That aside, I also wonder about Alfred's occupation. Was he maybe in a similar line of work? Could they have been targeting each other and struggling with their goal; causing Japan? to finish the job for Alfred? Matthew was definitely struggling with childhood/job choices.
Well, the original lyrics are about a boy and girl's failing relationship, but to me this story looks like either: 1. Kiku used Alfred to get to Matthew - for whatever reason i'm not sure, but i suppose it has something to do with Canada's career choice. 2. Kiku saw Alfred hesitate and stepped in to 'save' him. Alfred may or may not have gotten shot in the process.
