Otz: “Pentamento is INSANE on Plague. It CARRIES. It DESTROYS teams. Anyway, this next video is me winning without even using it until the game is already practically over.”
@@jimskeuh Because this was obviously an extremely strong team. Nobody is complaining about the bots buddy, it's the sweats at high MMR that are impossible to win against
Yeah Pentimento and Plaything have ridiculous synergy. On artist its just that much more powerful because you can mindlessly defend totems from afar too. One strat I love to employ is to wait until all totems are cleansed (or at least 3 totems) and loop around the map lighting them while threatening the just-lit ones with crows. It gives survivors additional objectives that REALLY slow down the game
Ive been using this combo, alongside no way out and whatever perk I see fit. I love how the meta for killers is finally changing, and I dont feel like I have to run the same 4 perks anymore
@@simbiontedelaluz when you get hooked for the first time, it lights a dull totem on the map. While that totem is lit, you get the oblivious status effect (can’t hear the killers terror radius).
I don't understand the fun in that tho. Both run in the background and don't affect your play at all, just passively makes the game easier for you like with old ruin.
Yeah I love Otz but feel sometimes his inner "fog whisperer" takes on and pretends like "oh yeah this is BROKEN on killer, and since survs are broken too it´s balanced!" Don´t take me wrong he speaks the truth most of the times
Im a plague main and ran a pentimento build and literally got pentimento up at 1 gen left with 4 survivors alive. They all died, they genuinely couldnt get one gen done with the hex up lmao. This video may not have showcased its power the best, but trust me Otz knows what hes talking about, especially when it comes to plague.
@@pato6738 well the perk set up seems good. There are either, not touching bones, give the killer ruin all game. Try to mess with your set up, & give you aura info, & give them self a speed debuff, so ruin & gen slowdown while also not slamming gens, or ruin dies earlier & your getting alot of aura reading plus gen slowdown. I like this build because it doesn't feel like there is a bad order for your totems can be broken in. The big issue is if there trying to bless your hexs to deny the new hex
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! PAAAAAIIIINNNN!!!!!! I broke my hand yesterday because of the hate comments I get all the time. I was so angry that I punched a hole in my computer. Please don't hate me, dear rose
He could use Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/Corrupt every game and win >95% of the time, but what's the fun in that. You'll be fine in low MMR without teachables. Definitely level up Plague though for infectious fright + corrupt.
Run whatever you like. I run BBQ, Shadowborn, Bloodwarden and Lethal Persuer on Blight and still do pretty damn decent, I might lose against teams that bring really strong shit, but chances are I would have lost regardless and felt way worse about it. I found myself improving the most at killers I play when I stopped running builds like these and was forced to make the most out of my basekit too.
U think this is cruel? Try running devour hope, ruin, undying, pentimento on demogorgon with the leprose lichen and purple whistle add on. Just activate two portals in the hex totems that are the closest to each other there you go, hell on the fog.
@@furkankurt9382 I think ur underestimating what a diference pentimento makes when added to the build. If the demo always leaves chase to protect the totems it’ll be hell to get rid of devour hope, and they can’t bless it cause there isn’t enough time, they have to cleanse it. And if the demo miscalculates, or the survivors start cleansing both totems at the same time and one is gone, now they have to repeat the whole annoying process to get rid of pentimento all over again, and there’s still a chance that ruin is still up. I watched that video when it released, but pentimento on that build makes a huge difference and I think it deserves another one.
Hey Otz, can u make more videos with this build? Maybe trying with a better survivours, this build looks awesome but I think the survivours make a lot of mistakes
Otz the one nasty combo I've seen with Pentimento is the perk that makes survivors oblivious once they're hooked and ties it to a totem. If they want to remove that they have to find the totem and cleanse it. Which if you hook 4 survivors guarantees 4 cleansed totems so bring one other hex perk and pentimento. Which leaves 1 slot open for whatever else you might want.
True, but it leaves one very big flaw; plaything and pentimento both do nothing at the start of a match, where you as a killer need help the most. What if your first chase takes forever and you hook 1 person after 3 or worse 4 gens have been completed? You'll be missing 2 perks for most of the match
@@6powersofM Plague can use the white add on, to make the green infect indirectly. And start playing area control like hag, setting infection on windows, closets, pallets, generators. And then just discard 3 generators, and look only for your 3 gen final defense. They think they will be ahead by cleansing hex ruin, but that will distract them from breaking the 3 gen defense. If they have one guy killed by the time 3 gens are left, 1 gen to exit, it is very high pressure, since you can choose which pool to get power from. If they cleanse by going to map corners, the gens will all regress back to zero as it is just patrolling 3 gens against 2 survivors or less. If they hide and cleanse each other and wait, the gens will be at zero, and you will be ready to hit the red puke as soon as somebody touches something and it shows up. Surveillance is likely better for that end game, as it allows you to roam the map chasing and still know which generator is being worked on. The infection indicator is also good intel, but it won't pinpoint which generator is being worked on. So it becomes a map game and mind/control style plan. It will be very difficult for them to do gens with oblivious on, so they have to get rid of the hex totems. Pentimento then ensures they get penalized, and infection can make them broken if they keep working on gens for like 40+s. then red puke is a one shot. For other killers, if they fail to chase down and kill 1 or 2 by the time 3 gens are remaining, 1 to exit, they will start sweating. Usually those 3 gens are not going to be that close to each other. If they are swf, they will use coms to triangulate the killer, and even cannibal/spirit will be sweating it, as they can hide and start gens just as they distract the killer. That does not work against killers like plague or hag that can trap the gens directly and get notified whens omebody touches them. Even without perks.
People! Don't run just Pentimento with Undying you have high chance to encounter a bug! If they cleanse Rekindled Totem while Undying is still standing, Undying will be destroyed as Hex was cleansed but nothing will be transferred! Meaning you will loose 2 hexes at once!
Imagine this perk combo but with the brown add on. Puking on totems while using ruin to regress gens with the pressure you can provide, then they try to get ruin and it's puked on. Honestly great video showcasing a good build.
I think the 5 stack of pentimento should give an instant "exodia win", where the entity simple kills everybody the same way as when the gates timer runs out.
Hey otz just got a clever idea from a random p head which consists of fearmonger and trails of torment and the reason why its good is the fact that fearmonger eliminates the only downside of trails which is showing when its being used but since fearmonger gives blindness to survs on gen u can run discordance with bubba or myers to get a free down and of course you can run surge with it so you dint have to kick a gen
I just got to say otz has done a phenomenal job of finding builds that help underated killers. I didn't even touch plague until I saw his video on the time increase infection addons. And now this build looks like another really fun way to play!
people have been playing a lot more Plague for some time now from what i've seen she got a buff or something? i dunno but like... playing against Plague now is usually very difficult a lot of times tho i manage to be the healthy one and do uninfected gens and then The Plague gets mad at me lol(mainly the ones that can't infect survs directly) i don't know if that's a good thing for me to do tho but anyway yeah definitely try out The Plague cause it seems like she's doing pretty good
@@dandantsm6560 she got some add on buffs and they've been helping a lot. I've played maybe 10 matches today as plague and have done really well. I've spent maybe 1.4 million bp and still haven't gotten retribution and pentimento though.... So I've been using lethal persuer and corrupt instead actually works just as well. I love lethal persuer with plague because if you spawn at a corrupt fountain you can start a chase quickly with corrupt purge.
Been running it on her since it dropped! I'm loving it with the reworked Prayer Tablet/Hematite Seal combo. The build is Corrupt, Pain Resonance, Pentimento & Plaything and its brutal. Slow Plague is real yo
I had this perk build idea on the wraith yesterday; Furtive chase dead mans switch make your choice and fourth can be any of your liking, maybe thrilling? ruin? bbq? pain resonance? :D The idea would be to quickly down obsessions, after you hook obsession you go stop a gen (just get him off of the gen so dead mans switch blocks it, then he is idle for either the 30seconds round about estimating travel time to the gen, or goes to find another gen) this is when obsession is being rescued from the hook, and make your choice and furtive chase hits on the new obsession for fast down, get him, go stop a gen again XD i didnt have furtive chase on wraith yet to go just test it out, but it sounds hilarious. Not good or OP build at any means but could actually be fun.
Pentimento works really well even without other hexes last time I played I saw almost every totem destroyed (4 exactly at whole game, but I ressurected them earlier for repair % debuff)
Another great strategy to use with this perk is using hex play thing, hex pentimento and one other hex perk of your choice that way you have one free perk slot that doesn’t have to be a hex My personal favourite build to use is: Huntress lullaby Hex: Pentimento Call of brine (in substitute for ruin) Hex: plaything And I use The Onryo the add ons I use: Bloody fingernails: increases speed after projecting by 50% VCR: all TV’s display the effect when teleporting to any TV And this setup actually has done bits for me in the end game with a 3 gen, I had 3 gens bunched up together and a totem by one of my gens and that one totem is all I needed to slow down gen progress, I wasn’t able to get all 5 but one totem is all you need for endgame with a 3 gen.. The best thing to do with this build is wait until you have hooked all survivors at least once so they can all have a totem activated and wait until they destroy all totems then go and rekindle the totems
Use plaything + retribution or ruin + pentimento. This gives you a chance to have all totem cleansed to where you can run around the map and re-light every totem.
How does this sound? Hex:pentimento, hex:plaything, Hex:thrill of the hunt, Thanatophobia All five totems are lit, but take forever to destroy because of thrill & thana, then when they all break you relight all of them thus blocking the totems for the rest of the match while dealing with 30% to 50% slow down on gens
Wow this is amazing plague gameplay! I don’t usually see anybody playing plague and when I do, they don’t get much value with their power so it’s kind of sad but this is absolutely astonishing!
yea, while new at killer/survivor, I never played against plague as survivor or twins. The puke is not that easy to use and looking up is an easy way to lose sight of the survivor. Playing plague like area control hag or pyramid, feels much better, as I tend to be strategic map control and stealth playstyle.
Another bonus for running this build on plague is that the survivors are less likely to bless with Circle of Healing, sorry if you said it in the video, if so i missed it
in theory the best value for retribution would be haunting grounds undying play thing and pentimento start with 3 hexes but have 4 hex totems they break haunting spawn another haunting or break undying or you protect retribution then when u hook someone it spawns another hex when they break that hex you use pentimento and... spawn up to 4 more hex totems (gotta keep retribution so you cant max penti) also it forces people to usually go look for it at lower ranks oblivious is much more effective to get the drop on people but higher ranks its probably better to just keep ruin on for the extra slow down stack with pentimento which means you can have retribution proc 8 time so 3 totems at the start 4 with an added plaything after 1st hook rebuild the 4 you lost and then you have 8 45 secs of see the whole team :D
Well, just got all the teachables unlocked last night so I've got some grinding to do but what I'd like to try is swapping Retribution for Hex: Plaything.
I know it’s weird, but I wait to get all the totems to break and then run my ass around to lock the totems down. It doesn’t work often but I had one game, that I was doing my Artist adept, had a Nancy that broke them all. I realized (it was on the new map) that I had to run around to light them all or else I will loose. I won that game by the skin of my teeth
U can also use play thing to create hex totems n ruin, this way u can have the five hex totems n if they don´t have boons u can get the five tokens of pentimento
Hey otz i had this idea for the new hex perk where you use hex play thing and hex retribution with it to make so they have to cleanse or walk around the map blind I wanted to hear ya thoughts on it ( i usually play with deathslinger to get those quick early downs)
Peminto with hex plaything. Creates a hex totem for each survivor to cleanse. Leaving you with just one left for them to cleanse allowing you to reignite all of them at once. The other 2 perks i would use with this combo is thanophobia and dying light for maximum gen slowdown
I have Pentimento, Plaything, Ruin, and Thrill on Clown, shit’s amazing. Makes playing Clown so much fun. Gonna swap Thrill for Undying once I manage to get it on the bloodweb.
I have been trying it on Oni, same perks as you show here. My thinking is that survivors tend to play much more passive when Oni's power is up. So you play normally until survivors have broken as many bones as possible, then use your power to rekindle them all very quickly, all while Survivors potentially are under threat of insta-down. Addons for speed and duration help of course. I have only reached 4 stacks so far, but it's been kinda fun. Even just getting 2 stacks then looking for survivors at like 3 gens as ONI is insane. Also Pentimento didn't really do anything, Ruin pretty much carried the whole match...
Pentimento, Ruin, Undying and the new Scourge Hook makes my go-to build for Artist, pretty oppressive on it's own, and with survivors stopping everything to remove crows so they arent vulnerable to sniping makes it a mean combo really quickly. Also sending birds on totems you know they know about and are near it.
i think hex: plaything would be a good combo. it forces survivors to cleanse totems because if they dont, they just get surprised by the killer too much and will die because of it. and it makes new hexes so if you want to have 2 perks left without it all being hexes that will be removed, then it will be possible. maybe an bbq and an jolt would be an idea, something like that
ehhhh 2 of them were already dead before you even activated a Pentimento totem, I'm not sure this showcases anything other than the strength of Retribution lol
Plague with Hysteria and Blood favor is fucking hilarious because both trigger on full infection, and they are stuck with being oblivious half the match or are forced to cleanse.
If you had haunted grounds, pentimento, ruin and devour hope, would all totems be blocked the whole game? Or does it only work with hexes created with pentimento? Just curious if you could make devour and ruin uncleansable for the whole match. Edit: does pentimento create hex at the start of the match?
Circle of Healing is by and far the most useful of the boons and it is absolutely useless against Plague which is why pentimento works so well on her. It would only be a time sink for survivors with no benefit if they choose to boon which gives ruin more time to do its job. Definitely wouldn't recommend it on most other killers though. Plague is uniquely suited for pentimento.
Does the amount of time that you puke on an object increase the time that it stays infected? Or can you just puke a quick little bit and it's still gonna be a minute and 10 seconds?
hex Pentimento .. Was ist not like on the first hex its reduces Healling speed and not gen speed and was a fault description on PTB? Its the wrong Description now on liveservers or did they change it?
I do this build but swap out Ruin for Hysteria. Hysteria is amazing on Plague because people are always getting injured passively and so they're always Oblivious.
