In this video I rework my original Hexbeam Hub to make it smaller and stronger! Guide to build a hexbeam, www.hex-beam.com/ #Hexbeam, #hamradio , #antenna
Thank you for this video Chuck! Last year I began a project for a portable hex for POTA with a 3d base/hub, and using Pex water pipe. I’ve yet to finish it, but watching your video has inspired me to re-visit it and work toward finishing it!
Very impressive Chuck, i'd be really bloody proud if I could make something like that mate. I love the improvements you've made, you really can't beat a hexbeam in my opinion. Well done Chuck.
That is a great looking setup! I helped a friend put a buddihex up before the totality event. Super easy and it looks like your way will be as well. Good luck, I might have to do this some day.
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures that's the problem mate is finding the time. I e not been on the radio since the WPX contest. I am still struggling to decide which radio I want next the line up is 991a, 710 or the G90. Currently running the ft817.
Beautifully done, Chuck💯👍 I could not do this any better myself. Looks very professional. Golden Rule here, save as much unecessary Weight as you can without giving up on Stability. Hey, tnx for another neat Video. I share this One with my Facebookers. Until the ext One. 73 from Coast to Coast and Sea the shining Sea de YFUG 💯🙋♂
Getting a building permit for a fence took hours and $$, Dad put in his Cushcraft 67B w 180 ladderline fed dipole on a 90 foot crank-up tower in west Phoenix for Free! Rest in peace Dad N7JWF/AE7AD 73s from KD7CKT Flagstaff
If you were to sell the HUB and make a suggested parts list for all of the other parts, I would buy it. I don't have the tools to do the hub. Would love to build a hex beam. I think the hub is the most important piece.
Enquired the cost of a locally built Hexbeam. It is almost one third of the cost of my FT-710! So I am still on my homebrew fan dipole for 40/10m which allows me to work on 40, 15 and 10m. 73 de Jon, VU2JO
I'm over here fighting a single long wire, Chuck over here with real tools, printing and weighing in grams, do you have wire on there between 10 & 12? Can't wait for 2.2!
What is a good website that has the build instructions. How long at the fiberglass poles? How long are the top support ropes? Where do I find the clips you used? How do I weave the wires inside the hex?
