Here is Dave’s Odyssey with a Mellotron, Dan’s repaired Marshall Time Modulator, You-Know-Who’s CR78 and a little trial run with Otto’s Ursa Major SST-282. Filmed and Edited by Michael Shular
You know you're deep in the YT Synths rabbit hole when you get suggested day-old videos for channels that you don't even subscribe to with a 1:7 like:view ratio. Nailing it.
@@mu0pdefinitely noticed that, I'm getting some pretty good up and comers in my feed lately, tailored fairly well to my tastes...Brian Eno predicted all this algorithmic stuff decades ago !
I had to check out the website for your business and it's really informative and clear. And I love that under what you don't accept for repair includes: Your Boss DD-3 delay pedal - please don’t pay us $250 to fix your $75 pedal Anything with the word “Behringer” on it Anything with the words “Line6” on it 😆
I have no idea what I just experienced, but I’m happy I landed here. Or that they landed here and we witnessed them as they disembarked their intergalactic craft…
yeah. subscribed. This is some awesome shit right here. I love how the Ursa Major has 38 combs and you guys have zero between you. LOL Hey don't wig out!
Sitting in my living room over coffee in Brighton, Colorado, watching while my son sweeps the floor. I showed him this vid and we both found joy. You are my kind of freaks.
No idea who this is, not really into synths (but effects and music yes). I clicked on this purely because the thumbnail in my feed is right up my alley. Nice work, pulled me in.
awesome video left me with more questions the more i start thinking... did somebody forgot to close the front door? what is with the lockers? the music was playing before he got inside to the synths? then he was the one playing it? where are the patch cables? how is it connected for sound? thumbnail: thought it was a comedy spoof of synth guys with larry the cable guy on the right with a wig. pleasantly surprised with the video, did not know what to expect.
What's the keyboard under the ARP? The ARP is glorious... then you come in with that absolutely beautiful, haunting sound too, and its goosebumps time. The CR-78 is stunning too. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
That is a 1971 Mellotron M400, a tape-based keyboard with recordings of flutes, cellos and violins on each key! 35 keys, 35 strips of tape, 35 tape heads. One of my favorite instruments ever made.
A very nice homage to the 70s and the Berlin School. Are you in the basement of an old masonic lodge? I couldn’t help notice the triangular number 231 hz and the triangle. I thought you looked like a bunch of Geordies from Newcastle. 😅
That last look reminds me of a legendary documentary from Vice about/with Gaahl (ex-singer of black metal band Gorgoroth). The look when he very very slowly turns his head to the camera to answer a stupid question…golden!
That’s actually the CR-78 into the Grommes mixer and then directly into the Altec filter, which gives some frequencies a really cool resonance. Sounds kinda like dripping water in a cave at some cutoff frequencies!
