Right, Justin is a great guy! Just a hand to keep them straight while setting them down is a big help. The property owner, Jack, helped me some too. The first blocks are a huge pain but after that they go pretty quicj.

Hey James, thanks and welcome to the channel! I love this kind of work as well. I have a video "How I Bid Excavation Jobs" that shares some info on how I look at jobs. I generally bid jobs by the day, based on 8 hr days. I have a set rate for the first day which has extra built in to help with moving equipment. Then a set rate per day for the following days. I will give folks a generally idea of how many days I think it will take. I have one day minimums on large equipment and 1/2 minimum on smaller equipment. This particular job is kinda hard to say what a good price would be because it had a lot of different things to do. I have been using 57’s which is 3/4” rock. It does well. But next time I may try 89’s which is a much smaller rock and easier to spread and get level. It packs really well too. I used the 89’s for a footing on precast superior basement wall system. I really liked how they worked…
