Hey Jaw Tooth: Hobo Shoestring Tribute Video 

My husband disappeared on a trip to visit the birthplace of Bob Dylan, Duluth Minnesota. He wasn't quite right but he was the love of my life. A Hobo is a person searching. I hope Shoestring has found his place.

I'm a 63 year old son of a railroad man myself and a true fan of Shoestring!! He will always be a real treasure to all of us railroad fans !! His spirit lives forever as I watch those freight train passing by!! Goodbye, my friend !! RIP

Shoestring was a rare individual. When I watched his videos I often wondered how he could ride the trains, day after day and year after year, record his travel adventures like he did, and stay sane. I could do it for a few days, maybe a week, but not like he did. He gave us a great first hand account of hobo life in the modern day.

Hobo Shostring was such a good guy! We all know he is in peace ❤️

Mark was my friend also, and his adventures still live in my heart and I will never forget this man of adventure and the trains he rode on. Been following Shoe for about 7 years!! Kind mellow fellow!! I love trains, so his adventures were very relaxing and interesting. Gonna miss seeing him and hearing his stories.

I now think of him whenever I travel (trucker) through places like Front Royal VA, Knoxville TN, Jonesboro TN, Radford VA, Roanoke VA, Hagerstown MD, Binghamton NY, etc. When I think about Alaska (the ferry ride, the Klondike Hwy)God, I'm going to miss that man 😢😢😢♥️♥️♥️

I'm a 67 year old home body, someone you'd never expect would like his videos, but I found his videos so entertaining, informative and refreshing. I especially appreciate learning survival techniques from him! I hope to meet him someday soon in a better world. Thankful to Hobo Shoestring for all the hours he shared. I'm deeply saddened by this news. I wanted to see a video because I was having trouble sleeping tonight and trains relax me.

It saddened me to learn of Shoestring's passing. He was certainly a living legend. The rails are an emptier place without him. He gave the high iron so much heart and soul. R.I.P. Shoestring! 💚💛💜

We lost a complete library of knowledge. He probably knew the rails better than anyone, employees included. Plus he's a veteran. Great tribute, never met in person, but he always replied to my comments. He will be missed....

i am missing shoestring I loved his experiences and stories, even sadder is I know sometimes he would come through ohio and I was hoping one day to meet him, guess I will have to wait for the fulfillment of john 5:28-29 to meet him. I am so sorry he did not get t he help he needed, I have had friends who commit suicide, in fact two of them were brothers they were so close when one killed himself via hanging his younger brother followed suit their mom and step dad were so distraught, I am sure they still cry to this day even tho it has been like 15 years. my friends hubby commited suicide, and we think another sister (spiritural) accidentally killed herself, (she had mania/depression) due to medication taking due to serious leg injury, we dont know if she forgot she took her meds or did so om purpose will never know until Gods new world soon to come.

To jaw tooth I sadend by the loss of Hobo Shoestring he is an Icon in The Hobo world of Train hoping across America.He will in no dout be great to y missed by us his Fans ,By far he was interesting to listen to I would Comment to him and tell him how much I loved his Videos .I to him some thing Interesting about our family and the Rail Road that he was shocked to find out about .My ditant Uncle Eli Hamilton Jayne Came up with the first Patent on the Automatic knuckel Coupler for the Rolling Stock Cars of the Rail Road .Eli was from my Fathers side of the family the Fred Lynch side.shoe string loved my story I told him .We Commented back and forth to each other .May God Bless you Jaw tooth Im Sorry for the loss of your goid friend.Love Matthew Spaid a Rail Fan

I live in South west Ohio been a subscriber of Mark / Shoestrings a couple year's now I sure wish I found his channel sooner Mark/ Shoestring was so down to earth & personable I feel like I knew him, & it actually brought tears to my eyes when he went missing & then found where he was, & the thought he won't ever be uploading new videos hurts also, I'll never forget this man true American Icon of our rail system in the 🇺🇸UNITED STATES 🇺🇸 & where I live we have a main rail line going through my small town I live less than two blocks away from 4 crossings so we here hear ALOT of Horns Everytime I hear them horns blow Mark / SHOESTRING instantly comes to mind, almost like a hello from Mark Bitter sweet for sure I think I'll smile for his memory & wave at the conductors when I see them from now on in marks memory also R.I.P.🌹🕊️🪽🇺🇸 MARK / SHOESTRING 🇺🇸-🚂🚂💨💨💨& GOD BLESS YOU 🙏
