What I love about this British band, when they first came to the American South they had it in their contract they wouldn’t be be play to segregated crowds. Blacks would sit where they wanted or they refused to play. In these troubled times, let’s remember we’re all Brothers and Sisters, xxx
I really enjoyed your reaction! It's a very uplifting song (and there's nothing like seeing Sir Paul McCartney sing the song live in concert). The Beatles have quite a variety of different tunes to check out (just about any of them are enjoyable). They only did a handful of long songs, most of their other hits are between 2 and half to 3 minutes long. To put it into context, back when they made this record, a lot of bands were experimenting with different ways of making music, whether it be utilizing new technologies or new ways of writing songs or expanding the length of a song. There were a lot of groups who were trying to see if they could make songs that would be 5 or 6 or even ten minutes long. It was all part of turning pop/rock into something more than just "a music", but the motivation was to turn this type of music into art. Sometimes groups like Pink Floyd or Genesis would make a song that would be 25 minutes long, like Echoes or Supper's Ready. Or a band like The Who would make a record that would be a rock'n'roll version of an opera where every single song would be like a chapter in a story. They were all influenced in some way by what The Beatles did with a song like Hey Jude. "Wow! They made a hit out a song that's 7 minutes long. Let's make a song that's 9 minutes!" I can tell you have an open heart for stuff like this which makes it all the more delightful to see a reaction like this! If I may suggest, maybe you would enjoy some of the music of Led Zeppelin. I would recommend a song like Whole Lotta Love, or Stairway To Heaven.
Someone criticizing the Beatles for draging some part of a song too long, that's really funny for a person of my generation. But of course one could react that way if one is not familiar with their work. So i really appreciate, that you really openly speak up your mind. The Beatles where definitely one of the most important bands in music history because they where in a way ahead of their time, searching for new lyrics, new melodys and sounds. For instance if you compare somgs from the album Revolver to any song of their seargant pepper's - album, the album "Magical mystery-Tour" with muscial influences from music of India or their late work on the white Album.
I like to be honest when I do these reactions, I love the song, I guess just like you said I’m just not very familiar with them. I hope to react to more of their song to get a good feel of them and your songs.
They are the most successful band and biggest most popular rock band in the world. If you haven’t heard or listen to a Beatles song. You’ve lived under rock!!!
Dreaming Music I’ll oftentimes only listen to the first four minutes before things become a little crazy or possibly even repetitive. Still it’s a great, great song that has stood the test of time.
I've avoided this song for a long time because of that ending, I think, and because I overplayed all of their songs! But I think it's about time I played it for my kids. I don't remember the first time I heard it... my brother was a Beatles fan and he's 9 years older than I am, so I heard their music all my life.
My favorite from them. It’s my understanding this is about Julian Lennon dealing with the divorce of his parents. I could be wrong but that’s how I remember it. ❤️❤️
@@dreamingmusic7771 Paul McCartney (who sings lead on this) wrote it for John Lennon's little son Julian after John walked out on his wife Cynthia for Yoko Ono earlier that year. John forbid The Beatles and their inner circle from talking to Cynthia as a test of their loyalty to him, Paul was the only one to defy him and wrote the song in the car as he drove over to visit them hoping it would cheer little Julian up (it was orginally called Hey Jules) he then expanded the song and worked on it in the studio with the other Beatles and it grew into something much bigger. But it's genesis was a sweet little song written to cheer up a confused and sad 5 year old.
*I have few sugestions from few artist:* *Leonid Kharitonov:* "The Cliff" "The ballad about russian boys" "Gray hairs" *Ivan Rebroff:* "Mein russland du bist shon" "Gari gari" "In Odessa" *Bernard Ładysz (who died in this year):* "Serce Matki" "Missisipi" "Zielone lata" "Moja matko ja wiem" (duet with his wideo) *Jonathan Antoine (He actually is only 26!):* "Unchained melody" "Compass" "So deep is the night" *Lucciano Pavarotti:* "Core'n grato" "Caruso" (duet with an author of the song- Luccio Dalla) I hope u'll enjoy some part od that. Dreaming Music The song was written for Julian, John's son with Cynthia at the time of their divorce,John was big enough to say it was a great song. Paul was always much more of a father to Julian than John. The host is David Frost THE British TV presenter for decades. The beginning is just their shared sense of humor, the guys and DF I mean.
Hahah I liked the beginning, I thought it was hilarious. I did enjoy the song itself, just thought the ending went on for a while. Will check out some of their other songs too
@@dreamingmusic7771 They had not played live for 2 years and people were very much "in shock" still. The "Hey Jude" chorus is universal, even BTS sang it on Stephen Colbert, the studio version is 6 minutes and that is "the law" :-)
I was waiting for your comment, to celebrate the channel getting to 1k and also for you always commenting first on very video I post, I will like to dedicate the next reaction video to you and everyone that have subscribed. You’ve suggested a lot of song but which one is your favorite?? So that I can do a reaction video for tomorrow’s video.
Wow. You are so sweet. I have two songs. I think I will pick Barcelona by Mercury and Caballe.. the first video that comes up in the search. Hope you like. God bless you.
I like to watch reaction videos for this performance, though I confess, I usually skip to the end after about a minute of the sing-along. 3 minutes plus of that get's old for me. If I were there, I suspect I would have felt differently.. but I wasn't.
Eh, I like honest people. Not every Beatles song will resonate with everyone, you know? At least we don’t have another “Pfft, I don’t listen to the BEATLES! All the songs sound the same!” Or even worse, “I don’t really care for overrated bands like these guys.” I’m more for someone giving them a legit chance.
