Every time i listen to a new Bon Iver song I cant even look at my guitar for weeks. It’s not even fair at this point how good he and everything he does is... 👍
A lot of his work is done electronically so it makes me want to put my computer away. I feel guilty using a Mac just to search for memes and write emails when JV is using his to make amazing music like this
He has the same affect on me. I used to sing and compose songs on my guitar. Presently I don’t bother. Everything I do now sounds so diminutive against his sweeping talent. His work is the closest thing I’ve heard to perfection. It hasn’t got old after 2 years of regular listening.
I've seen volcano choir at the cedar in Minneapolis when they were touring maps with only about 700 people ten feet away in his early days. For Emma forever ago at a the turf club, his self titled at the orpheum when he toured, and the shouting matches at First Ave. Vernon has so much more soul live than he does on his studio albums and I purposefully seek out live tracks because nothing ever recorded compares to his live performances. He's a true artist that performs better live than in any studio album which is rare.
was cruising the web and someone wrote about both the new tracks released today with the videos unscupperedthings.blogspot.com/2019/06/bon-iver-hey-ma-and-u-man-like.html
Maybe, but I dunno. I'm kind of tired of hearing tracks with trap production, even if they're bangers. Better for Bon Iver to keep it real and not be that predictable IMO.
I’ve never liked a Bon Iver song the first time I heard it. Now, I love all of their songs! There’s layers on some of these songs I don’t even unfold until I’ve heard the song 20 plus times. It’s amazing.
