additional context of this video for anyone interested: Hailwatcher is speaking to Amberfur, his foster mother, in this video. Hailwatcher’s biological mom Rainsong passed before he had a chance to know/remember her and his father is an unknown rogue, so he’s curious as to why she ‘left him’. Rainsong is visible watching over her son as the StarClan cat on the right. As Hailwatcher becomes older, he slips from the warrior training of his foster dad Raggedfoot into medicinal training, which gets him disowned with a parting blow to the face. He’s forced to stop talking to his foster siblings and avoids Amberfur to stay out of trouble, and his lack of community due to his halfClan heritage leaves him in a dark place.
