small headcanon: george at first wasn't part mushroom but when things went downhill (like the wars plus dream went to prison), he developed the sleeping problem and he'd sleep for hours to the point where mushrooms grew on him. When dream got out of prison, he comes back to george's house and finds him in this condition.

so as it turns out dream has been playing 4d chess while weve been playing uno and he never actually stopped caring about people, he just couldnt let others know because what hes trying to do will put them in the line of fire, because he chose to do it in the absolute most nuts way
