Thanks again to @HeyBike for the Mars foldable E-Bikes. We can't wait to explore even more of Florida in our future episodes! If you are considering a HeyBike purchase make sure to consider using our affiliate link in the video description, which helps to support our channel. And if you are here just for the St Pete content, we hope you enjoyed seeing two of the city's historic neighborhoods AND two more businesses that are worth a visit!

I live in a 2nd floor one bedroom apt. How difficult would it be to wheel this ebike upstairs while folded or unfolded. I am also 5'4" tall how would it be when seated on the ebike? Will my feet rest on the ground flat? Thank you for the video. Very Helpful.
@@Hisgrace4me I think it would need to be carried, so not the easiest to get up and down a flight of stairs. You are able to adjust the seat and handles based on height.
Neither of us have had a "New Bike day" since we were kids, but it just as exciting as when we were kids! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the video and appreciate you taking the time to comment!
We have been seeing more E-Bikes around St Pete too. There are so many different companies and models to choose from based on what kind of riding you are interested in! Thanks so much for watching.
My wife and I rented ebikes from Kafe Racer in Dunedin and started researching that day lol. Bought two on black Friday deals. What we found (accidentally) when renting is there are two types of pedal assist sensors, cadence and torque. Cadence tends to act more like cruise control to get you up to a certain speed whereas torque measures how hard you're pedaling and applies assist based on setting. We prefer the torque sensor but either way the bikes are fun! We rode 20 miles last week at Starkey Ranch which was just an excuse to head to bayou bistro in Tarpon for lunch then 2 frogs and unrefined for liquid refreshments lol!
Thanks for sharing the info on the pedal assist sensors. We had know idea there were different types and honestly don't know which types we have on ours! We agree thought that e-bikes are a ton of fun, and will definitely provide us with a good excuse to get some good food and beers!
Have you guys rented any yet? We were definitely on the fence about getting our own until we rented some. After that we knew that we'd be owners of a couple sooner or later! We hope you guys have a great week too!
Ya...I was down there just this past Friday, a little windy that day, stopped at Crescent Lake pk, walked around that I see you guys riding at by old northeast neighborhood, park north of the pier, the Palm Arboretum, etc....stopped for lunch at Trips Diner on 9th Ave. N, and dinner at Metro Diner up on 4th
Oh yeah you were definitely right in the area where we filmed a lot of this video. Our thumbnail and a couple of our talking parts from this video were filmed in the Palm Arboretum!
Those bikes are perfect for your adventures. I have 1300 miles on one of my e-bikes and 250 miles on the folding one I just bought Christmas Day. If I had it to do over I would just have bought the folding one. Heybike is pretty popular over here on the east coast too. I would love to load up and head over to those brick streets.
They really do seem to be the perfect bikes for what we like to do. We're so excited to have the ability to haul them in the back of our vehicle and to take them off road. We can't wait to see how they perform!
We love our e-bikes, we bought 2 from the new Rad store in St. Pete. We live next to the Pinellas trail in Seminole. We have the best time on them, enjoy!!
We're glad to hear you guys are loving your E-Bikes! We are fortunate to live in such a bike friendly area and we can't wait to get out on some longer e-bike adventures. Thanks so much for watching.
We think they are going to be a lot of fun! We really can't wait to test them out off-road. We think they'll open up all sorts of new adventures for us!
That was fun! I bought my ebike (Lectric) a couple months ago and absolutely love it. As always, the food looked delicious! I look forward to more ebike vids but I love your scooter vids, too!
We're glad you enjoyed it, Rhonda! We are so excited about all of the new adventures we'll have on our E-Bikes! I think we'll still use our scooters when we're only traveling a mile or 2 and are sticking to flat, smooth terrain, but it's going to be really nice to have the bikes for when we want to ride further distances or ride on some rougher streets/trails!
I love seeing my area in your videos. I don't live in st pete but know the area if we go once in awhile. My husband and I went to the Good fortune restaurant recently since you recommended it. It was delicious! 😁
We're glad you are enjoying the channel and that it helps you to make the most out of your visits to St. Pete! Yes, Good Fortune is such a cool place, and really delicious food! Thanks for watching, Shaunah!
these look fun! really awesome that they sent you a couple. I kind of want one but we're never home long enough to really consider buying one. Also, burst out laughing when you said it smelled like 🍀and seafood
So far so good! We think the real fun will start when we get them off road though! Yeah, I found it pretty amusing that I smelled funnel cake, and she smelled 🍀and seafood. My immediate response when she said that was "that's going in the video" 😂
@@longnguyen6999 we haven't yet been able to test that out, we are planning a longer trip to be able to answer that question from our own experience. According to the advertising it is supposed to go 48 miles on one battery.
For someone whose never assembled a bike-not bad. Shows that anyone can do it. Bike wrenching isn’t the easiest for a first-timer. Make sure you get a GOOD lock.
That kinda what I though... not to bad for a first timer! Skylar bought some heavy duty U-Locks that we used on our first ride. They seem pretty secure!
My wife and I have Nireeka e-bikes and love them saves the legs especially on leg day in the gym. I love the hanger hamburger my wife loves the salmon melt. Oh the Cereal bar we've been there a lot of times, my wife will kill me if I touch her waffle cloud, lol. Living in Florida is pretty good, not for everyone but we love it.
Yeah, nowhere is perfect, but the St. Pete area is as close as we've experienced so far! We're glad to hear you guys found some e-bikes that you are happy with. We definitely think we're going to be happy with hours. Thanks for watching!
Wow guys! I sooo want an ebike after watching this! It will be so perfect to have in NZ 🤗 so cool that you went out and went riding around all day and putting those bikes to the test!
An e-bike would definitely be amazing on all those hills you guys have in NZ. We can't wait to take the bikes off road... maybe even get them up in the mountains someday!
Nice vid! All your vids are great. Have you been to Anna Maria ?? We have been going to Sanibel 8 years in a row , really missing Florida! And we live in Minnesota 😂
Thanks so much for watching. We do have a couple Anna Maria episodes on our channel...but not on our E-Bikes. We love Anna Maria, if you haven't seen those episodes yet let us know and we can link them in the comments. We hope you make it back to Florida soon ☀️
I have the same bike mine is black I like the heybike mars because it's coming to ride, I like the tires and the handlebar grips it does a good job. For the pedal assist level I keep it at 2 all the time when I'm riding on bike trails, when I ride on alleys and sidewalks aren't wide i put it on 1 to slow down so I won't hit people and animals and I put it on 3 when riding on a freeway!
Yes, we really love the tires and handlebar grips on these bikes as well. We've yet to really take them off road for an extended period of time, but we know they are going to perform amazingly when we finally do!
Thank you! It looks like the PSTA does offer a route, but unfortunately it's over 90 minutes long. Here's a link to it: www.rome2rio.com/map/Tampa-Airport-TPA/St-Petersburg#r/Line-300-bus-line-79-bus
As long as you are cool with making next to no money and getting nothing for free for about 3 years, then yeah, you should 😂 In all seriousness though, if you are passionate about a topic and want to make a channel on it, then go for it. But if you're doing it for the money and the free stuff, you're going to have to endure a lot of disappointment!
Yeah, we got some heavy duty U locks that we can like out bikes up to a bike rack with. It still doesn't make them 100% theft proof, but it would require a lot of time (and noise) to saw through it.
How would you rate the comfort level of seating on this bike? I’m really looking for an e-bike with beach cruiser style comfort (like wide, plush seat and handlebars where you don’t have to hunch over). Would you say this Heybike Mars is similar to a beach cruiser’s seating or more like a mountain bike?
We rode the bikes for several hours on this day and don't recall having sore butts at all, so we'd say they are quite comfortable. The comfort level is definitely closer to a cruiser bike seat than a mountain bike, but of course you could always find an even more comfortable seat to replace it with.
@@Explorcation The last two helmets that I bought on Amazon for our adult kids were a BELL Thalia Women's Bike Helmet ($21) and a Zacro Adult Bike Helmet Lightweight - Bike Helmet for Men Women Comfort with Pads & Visor ($34), based on the good reviews. But there are lots of other good, highly rated inexpensive helmets.
We've thought about it, but we are far from experts on the topic and would really have to do a lot of research to be able to make an entire video on it. That said, we're sure a lot of people would find it helpful, and we just might do it someday! Thanks for watching.
@@lacaro8565 thanks for the suggestion, if we don't get to it though, we do want to give you a great resource for tracking: coastalscience.noaa.gov/science-areas/stressor-impacts-mitigation/hab-forecasts/gulf-of-mexico/ There is a good map for tracking respiratory irritation and if you scroll down a bit further there is a Beach Conditions Reporting System that we use quite frequently. We hope it helps!
They are pretty heavy bikes so they do take a bit of effort to pedal without battery power, but on level ground, it's not too bad. Pedaling up any sort of hill would be quite a challenge.
@@xavieravalos1402 I am glad you were still able to assemble. I wonder if they are changing how they are shipping the bikes, if so they do need to update assembly instructions!
Those old brick streets sure are not ideal for scooters 😆 we would definitely recommend a bike to enjoy those historic St Pete neighborhoods 😁 Thanks for watching!
Lol, “ I got a big whiff of Marijuana and Seafood”. St. Pete is definitely feels like the Seattle of Florida, but minus he weather, crime, and homelessness. :D
Thank you for your honest review of the bikes and for pointing out that the Cereal Bar has vegan options, how exciting! 🍦🥣 I've never been to that hilly part of St. Pete, it's so weird to see hills like that there. Love your videos. 😊
Our pleasure! We had heard about the hills in Roser Park before, but we were still quite surprised to find legitimate hills when we arrived. They still were nothing like you'd find in most other states, but they would have taken some real effort to ride up on a normal bicycle!
I have been enjoying your channel since the past month or so. I think it would be really cool if you had an opportunity to do a collaboration video with another RU-vidr in a similar mission like Randy from @TampaAerialMedia who makes high quality travel videos locally in Florida, as well as from different parts of the country. :) He hails from the Tampa suburbs, so he is in your neck of the woods. :) I think if you and him teamed up, you could have a pretty excellent video. Have a great day! 😊 #TampaAerialMedia
We're glad you've been enjoying the channel, Chris! We are familiar with Tampa Aerial Media, and think their content is great. They seem to have consistently great drone footage, which is something we that could certainly add to our channel. Our channel is still quite small compared to Tampa Aerial Media, and from what we've observed, collaborations tend to be between similar sized channels. That said, it's certainly something we'd be interested in!
@@Explorcation Cool! Keep doing what you’re doing, I think the videos you two make have a character and style of their own. You can always do a pseudo drone shot by putting your GoPro on a long monopod or stick, and then holding it high over your head while you walk. :) I wouldn’t sweat it though. Drone shots are cool and everything, but not 100% necessary.
@@Bicyclechris thank you for the feedback, we do really appreciate it. You are right about the pseudo drone shots....Skylar has gotten pretty creative with the ended GoPro stick!
