You know you could just take her out for dinner and quietly proposal, but I am glad you didn't just settle for that! What a proposal to remember and tell the kids and grandkids!!!
There is no taxpayer money wasting. That scene they set up is just like many training drills that fire depts run on a daily basis. Using a smoked up house to pull hose and throw ladders, its called "training" and if you can throw in an ingenious proposal then sweet. Laypersons, dont comment off the cuff if you have no clue what you are talking about. Good job bro! Stay safe and congrats!
Very well said! Thank you! All the equipment on the ground ahas equipment I brought myself from a smaller department I work for that allowed me to us it being it was out-of-service equipment. No equipment was pulled of any off the Houston Fire apparatus that way if they did get a call they can jump in a go! :)
I know I'm late to the party, but huge congratulations 🎉 I qualified as a firefighter just over 10 months ago and I absolutely freaking love this job - best decision I've ever made in my life. I met the love of my life - another firefighter - at a warehouse fire that took 20 - 30 engines from 4 different companies over 24 hours to extinguish. The Fire and Rescue Service is a huge family and everyone looks after each other. This is the happiest I've ever been - I don't know why I ever had a desk job 😂

I find it sad that so many people never even bother to read the description of the video and immediately go right to bad-mouthing you for "spending tax payer's dollars" on your proposal. I 💯 support our first responders enjoying life ❤️ they give so much more than they can ever be compensated for ! I say always always have fun on the job 🙏 I could not do their job day in and day out ! It's refreshing to see them having fun and celebrating a special occasion 🥳 I've seen and heard the tragedies they deal with and only a small small % of folks are capable of their job !

nice. he must have been on the verge of heat stroke. i know first hand how hot all that gear is, even in the dead of Connecticut winter. But in Texas heat, in the sun during this time of year, and the added nervousness of about to pop the big question. I say he was like 5 pounds of water lighter.
Wow, I cried! Haha. This has been my favorite yet. My boyfriend is a fireman and training to be a police officer. I'm hoping to be a marine biologist and oceanographer, so not quite as dangerous (minus the sharks.) It gets hard being the significant other of a public service person, but I wouldnt dream of anyone other than him. I hope you Two are happy, as people who live to protect others, you truly deserve it. Congratulations!

everyone forget about whether they were in service, the taxpayer's money, and the use of resources. police officers and firefighters are underpaid and still don't hesitate to risk their lives for us! they have all earned a special occasion like this and then some in my book!

Some of you people don't get it do you? They were still in service so at any time had a real call come in they would have left. So they were out doing something to help out two service members get on in life. If they had not done anything the fire truck and firefighters would have been sitting at the station waiting for a call. Little to no money was wasted here, maybe at the most the full cost there and back in the truck. I think the ones saying negative things are just jelly they cant find someone that wants to spend the rest of their life with them. You would think people would have a little more appreciation for the ones risking their lives for their community.
