You see what the director meant was that society picks you up just to throw you back down again. It is a very subtle message but I think it is made quite clear when you think about it from the doll’s perspective. You see we all live in a society. The cinematogrophy of just a simple whip pan represents how quickly things can go south. The doll was picked up and suddenly thrown back. The directon reminds me of a young Orson Welles in that the camera work is very minimalistic but still manges to convey so much. The color grading as well is masterful. The lead performance will more than likely be snubbed by the Academy because they dont appriciate real art anymore, but it’s fine because I don’t care about the Oscars. To wrap it up truly belive this is one of the best peices of cinema in the past decade and most definitely the year. 10/10, A+, 100% Fresh. Cant wait to see what Runquist does next.
