India is very generous in allowing so many refuges to enter from Tibet, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan etc. It is impossible to enter Australia now by sea to seek asylum. Refugees are now going to Manus Is, PNG and enduring hellish conditions apparently. Recent reports are of detainees going on hunger strike, sewing lips together, begging for water and yesterday of two hanging themselves. There seems to be no solution to this conundrum as can see EU apparently filling with refugees from war in Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. UNHCR is doing a fabulous job and I saw their tents in Leyte, Philippines after the typhoon. I saw too refugees from East Bengal in Calcutta during their war of independence from W.Pakistan in 1972.
