HH pledges support to the Mwanawasa family

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has pledged government's support to the family of the late former First Lady MAUREEN MWANAWASA beyond the funeral.
President HICHILEMA has also encouraged the family to remain united and seek comfort and strength in their faith during the difficult time.
The President says the passing of the Former First Lady is a great loss to the family and country, as she was a hard worker who contributed significantly to the country.
President HICHILEMA was speaking when he visited the funeral house of the late Former First Lady MAUREEN MWANAWASA in Lusaka’s Roma Park.
And the President has urged citizens to work hard when they are called to public service.
Meanwhile, President HICHILEMA has stressed the need to manage social media properly in the country to curb misinformation.
He was referring to falsehoods surrounding the cause of death of the former First Lady circulating on social media.
Dr MWANAWASA died on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Maina Soko Medical Centre after an illness.
She will be put to rest at Leopards Hill Memorial Park on Monday .
