HHS Children and Youth Resilience Challenge Finalist: Project Radical Hope 

Project Radical Hope addresses mental/behavioral health disparities that affect Indigenous youth in New Mexico by: 1) engaging Indigenous youth with a non-stigmatizing, culturally responsive development program that strengthens protective factors, reduces risk factors, and builds cultural connections; and 2) convening a community effort to address systemic barriers and increase access to mental/behavioral health care for Indigenous youth and families.
Project Radical Hope was a finalist in the national Children and Youth Resilience Challenge. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched the Resilience Challenge as part of President Biden’s Unity Agenda and Mental Health Strategy and an initiative of the HHS Behavioral Health Coordinating Council Subcommittee on Children and Youth.
