I think it's because dogs are so helpless in a way. It's like seeing a baby or young child in danger. You can't help but feel extra empathy.

I love how lizardy the Dinosaurs are They manage to be gory but not scary. The humans aren’t like...human enough looking to empathize with and the dinosaurs are kind of surreal looking; so it manages to be just like “Goosebumps” level of scary rather than deeply terrifying.

I think that it isn't "scary" because it is in such absurd detail and the idea of dinosaurs rampaging through town is just a bit too fantastical to be actually horrifying.

Regarding the unlisted videos: 1. They didn't show up in my subscription feed, and that's the main way I interface with RU-vid so I was unaware of them until now, so unchecking the box wasn't for nothing. 2. I like that they are marked as uploaded when you unlisted them. It draws attention to the point in time when RU-vid removed annotations in a way that feels like you're calling them out for it. All the Tims scrolling through your timeline will see them and remember with ire the death of annotations.

If I recall correctly, the spiked tail on a Stegosaurus is formally called the "Thagomizer" due to nerdy paleontologist paying homage to a Gary Larson cartoon which had a caveman pointing at the tail and naming it the "Thagomizer, after the late Thag Simmons..."

I agree with Brady that these cards would mostly likely have had some effect on Grey. At least I would go as far as to say that this is exactly the sort of influence that can help override taboos in a young person, and help them learn to deal with scary, disturbing topics in a lighthearted, even humorous way, while still acknowledging the darker elements explored. Certainly there are shades of that in the 24 Hours of Death video, yes.

for me it was "lights, camera, carnage!" because well...this is an homage to kaiju films in a way...also...giant monsters attacking Japan? That's called TUESDAY in Japan. Too bad there's no card where Getter Robo G and the Ulraman brothers fight off the dinos in Japan! LOL.

18:32 if you look at the sign, the comic con special guest is "art spiegelman" the author of "maus", the graphic novel of what his father went through in a nazi concentration camp. before he did that book, i think he worked for topps doing garbage pail kids. i think thats him getting eaten too. also the artist who did most (if not all) the dinosaurs attack cards was an artist named xno.

I never understood (and will never) how it's ok if people get hurt in horrible ways, but when it's an animal, some (most?) people just can't bear it. Same thing on TV shows like game of thrones. Yes, keep killing everyone in the most horrible ways, but don't dare hurt an animal. I just don't get it...

You see the video in your feed, think "oh great, a new HI! " , then realize it's live and think "oh well, I don't see the point of that but whatever". And then, you click on it, and what do you get ? "the diffusion starts in 97 minutes" . And that's not a good feeling, at all.

the time stamp thing is due to the recent scandal with the videos were commenters put links to moments with kids in "sexual" positions. There was an entire child pornography related thing. It sounds like the overkill solution to a real problem. I might be wrong.
