Mike worked at my local independent/import record shop Spin Inn back in the late 1970's, early 1980's based in Manchester, and he would often recommend records to me. Prince's first album, EWF Gratitude, Crusaders, Ohio players, and as my taste changed and I began to listen to more Jazz he pointed me in the direction of Chris Potter, Brecker, Dave Holland, EST, and many others. It's great to see him still influencing music choices today, a true collector of fine music. We had a bit of a bump in opinions over Brexit but I still consider him a musical innovator and love what he has achieved with Snarky Puppy.
