Great video. It's also nice to see a drummer that understands the value of using the heel-toe method on the hi-hat when playing a jazz beat to keep a steady tempo.
Damn! I also like the second kick pedal on the inside of my hats. But with the DW 9000, the linkage is just too darn long. It can't get close enough. I guess I'm gonna have to break out the hacksaw.
5 inches of height from the snare rim I assume? I keep my hats at around 11 o'clock and they just barely hang over the rim of the snare by maybe a ½" and I go with about 6" of height. Thanks nice video. I like your explanation of the sizzle setting. I go with about ¾ inch gap to I can get a good sound when keeping time with the foot on the hat
Thanks! And ya about 5" from the snare rim. I like your description of the 11 o clock position. I didn't think about it in that way, that's a great way of looking at it!
Do you guys know how to stop the Top Hat from Spinning while playing? Or is it my techniue? I tried adjusting the tightness nothing seem to work for now but I think I'll try the Tama clutch maybe that's the solution?
Yea it's normally because the nut may not be tight enough on the top high hat. I don't think I have that issue with the Tama clutch But it probably is just because your looser top hat
