While that’s a common thing about drumming I’ve heard for years I’ve come to believe it’s false (based on myself personally) I’ve noticed when I played on a smaller kit my tempo was better and the basics were more solid, but when I transferred to my current big kit with 7 toms my fills and creativity got better and I find it much more fun that way!
@@tonytwelves1259 My take is that you spend more time on the same tom, if you've only ogt one. You'll either have to split the practice, or double the time to get the same amount of przctice on two. but then again, I'm no drummer
I play metal drums in a metal band, but when I head a dude playing the sweetest beats like you, I feel like I've have no idea how to play drums. You should make a few videos showing your bass drum technique and a few chops.
@@kamehamehaa6070 Isn't that what being in a metal band is all about? Metal drummers have the highest pussy to talent ratio. Electro pop keyboard players definitely have the lowest...
@@HOOKSnKISSES that's not true at all. Not many girls like metal. Hip Hop, and "indie" guys have highest pussy to talent ratio. Don't be dicks just because you don't like metal drumming.
I studied classical percussion in university, my teacher always told me if you can take this snare drum, and make THIS sound like music on its own? Then you can make anything sound like music. Those words always stuck with me
WOW! Awesome hi hat control, incredible kick work, FANTASTIC snare sound. Phenomenal skills. This guy does better with 3 pieces than most can do with a full kit. Very talented drummer.
That sounded really good. I've been playing for years and I feel like I just learned some things by watching you for 3 minutes. Truly impressive stick control. Thanks for making this.
This guy sounds great with as little equipment as possible just goes to prove you don't need a whole lot of stuff to sound good if you are good keep up the good work my man you sound great
Ko Ck no it is the drummer that sounds good. Yes the drums sound good but, that is because of the way the drummer plays. Like a good chef, it’s not the pot or the knife that makes the food taste good. It’s the chef.
Hey! Keep it down over there! I’m the neighbor next door and we like it quiet!! . But wait! I’m a drummer too and that sounds pretty good. Ha! Great technique. Nice composition. Hope Steve Gadd could see this. Great chops!
Lush. Nice floating feeling. Classy but laid back. Just started drumming. Wanted to see what I can do with a minimal kit. Thanks for inspiring me this Tuesday night.
I love so many parts in this little jam because i feel like we play similarly. 1:20, 2:08, 3:33.. badass man. Love the kit too. No better vibe than playing in the backyard either. I bet your neighbors love it. You're a ripper dude
Love that snare sound and snap!!! Kick drum work is on point, make a vid on the footwork 👌. Great hand technique on the snare and hi hats too..all around sounds damn good! I'd love to hear what you'd do on a full kit. And maybe give some tips and tricks here and there, you're that good! Keep it up!
this is legit the kind of practice i need to be putting into my percussion work. just seeing what i can do with a simple drum layout. and let those patterns apply to a drum set
