I've carried a .22 mag High Standard In my left front pocket for 30+ years as a Law enforcement officer.. I've never had a misfire , and it shoots to point of aim at 15 yards. It is my "get off me" gun.

Where can I get one? What's the price
@deucedeuce1572

They're very expensive. Usually around $500.00. I have no clue why, because there really are much better guns for much better prices (like $280 NAA revolvers)... but they are neat little guns and they will save your life in like 99.9% of all situations you could ever find yourself in.

Had one. Use your middle finger to pull the trigger.

Ok, I gotta ask, where do you put your index finger?

@@shedman7323 Under the barrel ! Try this, lay the gun in the palm of your hand, match the rear of the gun to the web of your hand. When you close your fingers they automatically go to the second finger on the trigger, index finger curls safely into the nitch under the barrel. There is a grove for your third finger and your forth finger goes neatly under the grip. Now punch with the gun at the target and you will get very decent hits ... Also this is a glove hand gun, you can shoot this gun with gloves on in winter, that is why there is no trigger guard... I wish the NRA museum would do a story of the inventor of this handgun, he knew exactly what he wanted and created a unique classic firearm, much prized by those who work in the cold. Also undercover types who remove the grips to get the narrowest of concealable firearms.

@@bhartley868 I’ve sold the gun since this video. I wish I still had it so I could try that out. I’ve got big hands and a touch of arthritis so I did the best I could. Thanks for commenting!

@@bhartley868 You can also point your pointer finger straight forward at what your aiming at. The barrel is long enough that the tup of your finger won't be in any trouble (assuming it don't blow up). I highly doubt one would ever blow up though. They're made much more solid than they need to be. The barrels are far thicker than they need to be and the frame is very thick steel too. Even if the frame was aluminum it would probably be thicker than it needs to be.

Really unfired? (I hope you keep up on the oiling, because I've seen many insanely nice and expensive/rare guns get completely destroyed, because people put them in their safe for decades thinking that they were safe, but over time they rusted and corroded, because nobody kept up on keeping them oiled).

Can you shoot 22LR in a 22Mag like this?
@shedman7323
@shedman7323 Год назад
Absolutely not!
@deucedeuce1572

Yes. It's not recommended, but people do it all the time though. I recommend doing research on it and knowing all the risks before trying it though. The risks are extremely low and for the countless people that do it all the time I've rarely every heard anyone having a problem from it (if ever). The risks do exist though. It could lead up the barrel pretty bad and cause a blockage if too many rounds ae fired without keeping an eye on it. It's rare to get leading from that too though and severe leading is even more unlikely to happen. Another very rare and unlikely thing to happen is having gases escape around the bullet, between the bullet and the rifling. If that happens it can cause bad lead fowling, but worse, it can cause slight damage to the barrel each shot, which can over-size the bore and permanently cause the gun to have bullet instability, accuracy and leading problems (and the life of the barrel would then be extremely shortened). It's immensely unlikely to happen, but it is a possibility that a person should know about before choosing to shoot .22lr in a .22magnum. I personally wouldn't have a problem shooting .22lr out of any .22mag as long as the gun doesn't have sentimental value and/or as long as it's not a special or rare firearm. Hope you forgive the rant. I know it's a lot to consider.

Absolutely not! .22 WMR only.

It's not recommended, but yes. Just have to do your own research and know the risks (because there are risks). I probably wouldn't shoot .22lr out of one of these, because they're not in production anymore and they're like $500 guns now (kind of collector guns)... but the risk of damaging them from shooting .22lr is very low. You just really have to know what all the risks are though and accept them, because even if they're unlikely, they can and do happen. (...and if you don't know the risks and don't keep an eye on things it can damage the gun or worse). Personally, I don't have a problem shooting .22lr out of most .22 magnums... but I wouldn't do it with any kind of rare/valuable gun or one that has sentimental value... and I probably wouldn't do it excessively with any gun either.
