They will try to manipulate you in any way they can to control you. It is hard because they think they might save you from hell. So sad that people will do this to their kids when if they did have faith in God they would assume the holy spirit will impress you of his reality when he is ready. just goes to show that religion is not as loving as they say. It's pretty much is mind control. Sounds like you are on your way. best of luck to you.

Thanks for the comment. I agree, it's sad, and the fact that they're genuinely afraid I'll burn in hell definitely makes all of this much harder and more complicated. But such is life, and I do feel like I'm on a good path. Thank you for your encouragement!
