A few things. Discard the Q-tips in the trash can, not beside your sterile cleaning tray. The blue towels are supposed to catch the liquid from dripping down the sides of the patient to prevent pooling as mentioned, therefore, it shd. have been placed snuggly underneath the patients sides. Also, this is obviously for an abdominal procedure, the prep area shd. have been up to the nipple line and down to the mid-thigh.
Not on me you won't go mid thigh for abdominal. I will be wearing surgical underwear developed by surgeon's for surgeries such as abdominal and even cardiac. One orthopedic surgeon developed ones that hip replacement customers can wear and special bras for women for surgeries including for shoulder surgeries. Unless I am guaranteed same gender team I will be insisting on these.

Now you understand the difference in cheap Junk Green Soap! & A Awesome Product Anti-Microbial Soap like HIBICLENSE. Additionally it may help others! Take Care, Bill Kearney :-)
be good for cleaning equipment aswell. Staff Infections very and are scary. you dont want that around. even a small infection the size of a pimple can scare up skin pretty bad. this is one of reasons to make sure clients have a well placed plan of after care. i use Detol for prep no green soap. some ppl cant stand the smell of it. i like it ;-)
Jeff Schuler Note, to also use a Sonic Cleanser, as well as an Autoclave, According to manufacturers directions. You can use Prepzime, Medicide, Cavicide, BarberCide, as a pre Clean, then soak in a mixture of water & Murphy's Oil Soap before Sonic Tank, a quick soak & sink rinse with HIBICLENSE followed by Sonic Tank cycle then auto slave cycle. Personally I think it pays to use Distilled water in sonic Tank & as a rinse before autoclave, Prevents Rust & Pitting from minerals in tap water on metal parts! Yes Hibiclense is a Awesome Product! Take Care, Bill Kearney :-)
orthopedic surgeon uses hibiclenz when i had ankle hardware removal surgery. and 3 days later, removing dressing, i had a rash with blisters, so must be allergic to hibiclenz. i prefer betadine, never got a rash/blisters from it
I was told to rinse it off after 2 minutes and dry with a clean towel. I bought rolls of paper towels. I have to do this for 5 days (no way i'm washing all those towels).
Isn't this supposed to be done on dirt or soil free skin?. Wouldn't it be better to wash (soap + water) visibly dirty or oily or sweaty skin before completely disinfecting it like this?. How would this compare to betadine or surgical spirit viz much cheaper than this?
