Hey man just found your video and I wanted to mention that Band 4 is a high bandwidth band, it has more channel width than some of the other bands, so if you can set the base unit to specify to band 4 you might have even better speed.

The boosters come with RG6 cable but I heard RG 11 has way less loss in reception.

LTE and 4g is MIMO. With only one antenna, I believe it’s only Receiving. I have two of those antennas, formed to make a “L” shape, directly connected to my Netgear modem, and I get better uploads than downloads.

As a RU-vidr moving up there phone coverage is Nonexistent with T-Mobile, and getting a cable provider is sketchy. It is good to know this could help. (after I get a different provider) WOWHEY!

Does your AT&T modem have connectors for external antennas? You might be better off with two antennas on the roof, directly connected to the modem. That way you can keep the coax a lot shorter to minimize cable losses and make use of MIMO, which gives you much better throughput than this booster. Very nice project you've got going there, btw.

I have Verizon for cell and then Spectrum for my Internet and the Internet is 250mbs, but 4months ago we lost our 4g signal. Verizon says they don't know??? I even have a Obdator cellular signal booster and its not helping at all. When I 1st put the booster up, we went from 1-2bars to 4-5 bars. Is there a way to use the directional outdoor cellular antenna with a satellite dish or something? We can't use our phones without wifi now until we get 5-6 miles from the house. Thanks

The Uplink data speed is bit slow frankly, the reason is that the Router is too close to the booster, it has to be at least 10~15ft away, because the router has uplink power level which is pretty strong, so if it is too near to the booster, it is going to jamm the booster and enable the booster to trigger the protection system. So having a reasonable distance is important, pls try that way. while downlink from the tower has no such issue, because the signal recieved by the router is pretty weak, so it is going to have full bar, but even for that, the downlink still needs a reasonable distance to performance better.

It is very likely that you have a weak router LTE and AT&T It has far BTS antennas. I recommend you to buy a router such as huawei b715 with aggregation of LTE bands and testing various mobile operators. Maybe you may not even need this booster.

If you are still using your 3rd-party wifi router, it could be blocking the App (smart phone) direct connection to the server in the HiBoost.

On the Speedtest app, try different test servers. You may find one that gives you better results.

I'm trying HiBoost. WeBoost warranty sucks. I am 16 days short of the 2 year warranty and the WeBoost (model Connect 4G 470103) performance has degraded over time; used to always get 4g now, over the last 6 months only 3g. The outside antenna was 5' off the top of a 20' metal building. So I raised it atop a 20' pole. Also noticed the WeBoost amplifier it too hot touch. Standing on the roof next to the antenna my phone sees 4G. But down in the living room it never sees more that 3g. Using Advanced Signal Status app on phone. 'Greg' from Wilson Electronics says either the cell phone tower changed, the trees are too high, or I don't know how to aim the antenna (same direction for 2 years). I live in a rural area with closest cell phone tower 3.5 miles away. My phone will get 4G at different parts of the property, even in the trees, but now not with WeBoost? My phone on the roof sees 4g (15' below yagi antenna) but not my living room? I feel Greg is motivated to reject warranty claims. I'm not going to spend another $550 with Wilson Amplifiers. I'm done.

If that doesn't work you may have to contact the company.

I bought hiboost after watching your video and after hooking it up at my house in western ks, I saw No improvements in signal on the phones. The hiboost display showed a great signal but didn’t pass that on to the phones. Weird. I’m guessing it’s defective and I’m going through the process of having it replaced. Wasn’t sure if anyone had a similar problem?

My family has a cabin in Colorado mountains we can get cell service at the end of driveway with a weboost but at the house we get 0 bars literally talking a 100 feet, you think this would work to get signal at the house

Craig Pants our hiboost just came in. We are installing in our northern MI cabin sometime within the next 10 days. We have same issue, 1 bar out on the dirt road, no bars in our cabin. You are getting 4 bars because that is just showing the signal from the HiBoost devices, think of it as a router. It matters what the HiBoost device itself is getting signal wise.

Turn your phome off then back on to move it to the top of the stack of phones connected to the tower the longer your connected the less bandwidth your assigned cellular service was designed as a hand off to traveling phones moving thru the area, not a permenent connection. They dynamically allocate bandwidth according to time in connection to tower. Be well, and god bless -hallelujah!

They operate in a narrow range (cell service) so are legal. If they operated over a larger range of the frequency that is where you would need to apply for a permit. Only places they are illegal would be in a radio quiet zone where all RF equipment needs to be turned off.

If the repeater is just one mile away you don't even need a booster... A good LTE router with an external antenna will do the exact same thing much cheaper... I'm 8 miles away from a repeater with a better Yagi directional antenna and I got from 3Mb/s to 20 Mb/s on 4G... Another thing is having a long cable from the antenna to the booster...that cable have loads of loss on the higher frequencies...On any cellular antenna connections distance must be as short as possible due to the signal losses...

Boosters like this are intended to be as far as possible from the two systems. The closer they are the less performance boost you get. Because both of them are sending and RX signals. The outside antenna transmit/RX and the inside does same of the boosted signal. Most will come with atleast 60+ foot cables and require atleast 40foot of range between the two antenna's from line of sight distance. Since the inside antenna also transmits and RX the signal the phone sends. Now if it was a cradle device. That wouldn't have as much impact since the antenna is sitting directly on the phone. So the outside antenna won't bug itself over on the inside antenna signals.
