He's alright now, it was a tumor pinching the nerves that control breathing. Once they got that out, he stopped hiccuping (after three years) and was luckily free of the tumor.

His hiccuping was caused by a tumor on his brain stem pushing on nerves. Once the tumor was surgically removed, his chronic hiccuping stopped.

@Omemo "Briton Christopher Sands had hiccups for a period of almost three years which were eventually discovered to be due to a tumor located on the part of the brain that controls vascular activity. Once 2/3 of the tumor was removed, the hiccups appeared to lessen, and Sands no longer suffers from the condition." - from Wikipedia

I realize this is a major case of hiccups , but if you have not tried this maybe just maybe you will find relief. Plug your ears, while drinking water. A plastic cup allows you to bite the edge or have someone hold the glass for you....the other thing my sister swears by is to say.....oooofaaa newfaaaa waaaaaaaaaa, 3 time !! Good Luck

The lack of sleep is a living hell. I know I've been there. Feel so sorry for this guy. Would be interesting to see what a low non tripping dose of LSD would do to this condition. It seem to do interesting thing for people with cluster headaches.
@CheeseDude697
@CheeseDude697 10 лет назад
I doubt it would do much; there is a known mechanism of action for sub-psychedelic LSD doses curing cluster headaches. However, a full dose of LSD combined with therapy may help him cope much much more easily. It is currently being studied to help people with terminal illness cope with and accept the idea of death. The results are EXTREMELY promising. It's original use was actually as an agent in psychotherapy, and it definitely worked very well for most people. Until some dumb fucks decided to take it in an uncontrolled environment and jumped out of a window, and Timothy Leary over spread his views, indirectly resulting in the ban of LSD.
