Unfortunately, being an extremely small child, I was routinely attacked by my neighbors cat. I was terrified of them, but I never hated them. I wanted to be a vet and I like animals more than people. Lol Some people just have no empathy.

People who dislike cats do not know themselves.

I love cats but love my local wild bird population as well. The two don't mix well.

Few reasons for it. They definitely have less facial muscles than dogs and humans, but the relaxed lids or closed eyes is the equivalent of a huge grin. And the body language is also different, but I assure you everything you see here says "hey, everything's okay, I love you and I'm here".

That is so true! Depending on their personality, cats can sometimes miss their owner even more than dogs. So happy these 2 furbabies have got each other's back.

Cats aren't flock animals so they like being alone but of course cats also have different personalities but in general they live alone in nature and might even be bothered by living with many other cats or dogs. Some are fine with it though and enjoy it probably because cats are getting more and more domesticated.

Cats live solitary to a point but they do need some type of social interaction. My cat likes to be alone sometimes but then also likes to be around me a lot. Wild cats are deff more solitary but even some of them live in groups. And some wild cats like lions and such definitely live in groups (prides). Literally depends on the type of cat and how it was raised.

While they definitely enjoy their privacy, most cats also enjoy being around anyone they consider family during periods of rest, differing from individual to individual, but the social behavior is often uniform. In feral cats, this results in cat colonies, closely knit family groups that spend resting and leisure time together. In owned cats, anyone that they claim as family in the house. So cats do "flock" in a way, just not like pack hunting dogs, or drove foraging pigs.

They do ok spending a lot of time alone but even outdoor cats interact with prey everyday so they definitely need some interaction.

I don't understand why people will always comment like you did by saying "find someone like so and so who treats you like this bla bla". But why not be someone like that yourself? Why is there always a need to have someone else to be nice and supportive to you instead of the other way around?

@@Kenny-yl9pc those comments don’t imply they aren’t like that to others or to themselves already, just that you should look for a partner who is attentive to you and treats you well. I know as someone who feels like they’re always taking care of someone or sacrificing their comfort for others, I sincerely hope that my future romantic relationships also have the partner treating me the way I try to treat them. Just being a care giver gets exhausting over time, care givers need care too and relationships should be reciprocal.

My favorite cat was Righly , very large main coon. He was big enough to go paw to paw with my chow/German Shepherd mix.." wrinkles🤣😂" .. that cat had to be close to thirty pounds and he was lean. He was fixed but it was done like a humans so he kept his " boys " I paid extra because I didn't want a fat cat. Yeah he'd want to spray but actually trained him and the dog that inside is mine also I like exposed wood furniture so that helped a lot...any way I have a fair amount of experience with many animals as from the time I came to this life I had a manx that would aggressively protect me. My parents thought it would hurt me so they found a new home for rusty . My grampa kept telling my mom that cat will never harm that baby, he's protecting him ( me ) . He'd sleep in my crib . I've always connected with every domestic animal I've encountered. Cats choose who they like...some like every human they see, most don't. A dog , can feel your intentions they have something extra that allows them to know who's not to be trusted.

I know it seems odd to go to the cemetery on Halloween, but that was one of those memories days, if you know what I mean. All my kids were grown up and living on their own by then. The cat was meowing almost constantly, rubbed against my legs and jumped into my lap. He was wearing a flea collar, so I knew he was a family pet. I took him to animal control. I saw no ads in the area for a lost cat and no one claimed him, so I adopted him. They estimated his age to be 2. Considering where and when I found him (or he found me) I named him Boo. Boo was with me for 15 years. We traveled around the country in my trailer and stayed in 31 states over a period of nine months. We spent two winters in Florida. He hated traveling but always seemed to love it wherever we stayed. He was very friendly and gentle. He would walk up to strangers to greet them. Not many cats do that. Boo was a great cuddle-buddy for my dogs, too. He used to like to greet me with a head-bump. I called it the "Boo-butt". I started doing the Boo-butt with all my grandchildren. They liked it. I think the Boo-butt worked well because many young children may feel uncomfortable hugging a big old man they only see a few times a year. Bumping heads with me was always fun for them (still is). Many years from now they may remember "Boo-butts" with Pop-Pop, even though some of them will not remember Boo. Sadly, Boo died a couple months ago on Sept. 24. We've had several cats in my family over the years, but Boo was the last and the best. I miss him a lot.

There are many cats with many different personalities out there just waiting to go to someone they can love and be loved back. Some cats are total love bug, purr machines who just want a person to spoil. Idk,just a suggestion. Sounds like he was an amazing cat & comforting companion.
