Josh Ballard never seen the show bug I picked up on the fact he had either been vegan or vegetarian (loss of collagen around eyes) and sure enough after looking him up he has 😅
@@ElinWinblad It would be so lovely of you to explain how in the bloody hell does your comment have anything to do with anything said here in this thread. Because you lost me.
They would have to be as disguised as Tom Hardy. I knew Alfie Solomon was familiar to me but I could not put my finger on it. His performance is brilliant. You don't see the actor you see the character. With other A-list celebs it might be the other way around.
I can't see why snoop-dogg wouldn't be a fan of peaky blinders. There's no other Tv series where a character smokes a cigarette so nicely as Thomas Shelby
I really want to see a whole episode dedicated to the flashbacks they had while in the war and how they turned from these so called innocent boys to the peaky blinders we know today
Better yet a whole Prequel season. Since they can't butcher a Sequel be falsifying events of WWII like they did with assassinating Sir Mosley's stainless character.
@@angelrose1060 grace is also manipulating him at the beginning lmao. and its obvious that thomas is toxic it is his character but what he said is actually accurate its just that in that scene it is use to manipulate. there are alot of quotes in the drama that makes alot of sense .
I don't even think Thomas Shelby is that "bad" of a character. He lived in very cruel times and came from nothing. He's done a lot of good things throughout the story and you can see the kindness he hides. I don't know how anyone could think he's "unredeemable" in the story arc.
Jacqueline Alford after I wrote that I had an afterthought that would probably have been the case as I don’t follow actor world much and wouldn’t really know. But still point remains, keep the Super actors, the mega star variety out of it.
@@cozmik272 I have no idea who Tom Hardy is. I don't worship actors so I only know the household names like Brad Pitt et al and even that im not very good at. Don't put Brad Pitt or Elton John in the show, I think that's my point.
Zan lol shut up dumbass is anyone’s watching a video called details you missed in pesky blinders you deserve to not watch it cause there is some spoilers in here anyway
Na,but it was a good portrayal of Britain at that time. Post Ww1 was a very violent time with a lot of poverty and state paranoia of bolshevism. Churchill was indeed involved in a lot of the attempts to quell communism. It was he who sent the gunships and tanks into Glasgow in 1919 because he feared revolution
It is so hard to find an interview with cilian murphy and the whole cast of peaky blinders. Such an amazing show and doesn't have as many interviews but horrible shows like riverdale etc have so many interviews with a cast that is not at all talented or have any acting skills.
That's probably because those crap shows like Riverdale are promoted to the hilt to try and get people to watch them. The studio would spend as much marketing a show like Riverdale as they would making it. Whereas shows like Peaky Blinders speak for themselves, they don't need all the press junckets etc. They are promoted by word of mouth by fans.
There is an amazing interview with Cillian on Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show, which in my mind is the best ever late night TV... Shame he already retired. I could watch his non-scripted no-BS show all the time.
What I love about this show/series so much is the fact that it is not filled with a bunch of boring dialogue fillers, every part of it has important meaning and drama and the acting to go with it is what sets it apart from every other series out there. This and Breaking Bad are my 2 favorite series ever! Walt and Tommy being my 2 favorite characters ever!
I have always felt the most interesting part of the Tommy Shelby character is his relationship with the Great War. In Season 5 there was some indication of a totally different Tommy before he went into the trenches. I would like to see that transition played out in a movie or spin off. It was called "The War to end all Wars" but I think it was" the war that started all other wars" and I think Tommy and Polly would agree.
You can have big celebrity names but it’s the kind of person. Flashy celebrities like brad pit would change the feel of the show. Where Tom Hardy is epic and brings his own flavour. Michael Cain could be good. Ian McKellen, Bill Nighy.
Love Tommy's character, Pollys character blows me away but for me the show just pop's because of Alfie. When I'm not binging on peakys, I'll watch alfies best moments on you tube. His blind conversation and his apology conversation with Arthur 😂🤣😂🤣. He's the sexiest jew too
I agree. Going back to WW1 would be much better to depict personal experiences & relations that have already been touched on. Rather than falsifying WW2 history with BiasedBullCrap political propaganda.
As a huge fan of the Peaky Blinders,I would request the makers not to bring any big names in the show. Please keep it authentic.Cillian Murphy alone is enough! what a gem of an actor he is
The peaky blinders movie should be on Thomas Shelbys upbringing and finale on his amazing and brutal time in the war ... ending with him returning throwing his medal in the cut and getting on his horse that would be artwork and a full circle back What do you guys think ?
no, ur idea shouldnt be a finale. if you want to run the idea, it should be made on season 6 with only 2-3 episode. then continue with season 7 n 8 where it reached the WWII era
Don't forget Alfie Solomons! The only things I was mildly irritated by were Adrien Brody's caricature Brooklyn accent and Tom Hardy playing Alfie exactly like the Kray twins, but it was easy to ignore them with the awesomeness of the rest of the show. Roll on season six!
if there is going to be a spinoff or a movie I would really like to see Tommy's early years. Before and during the war. That would be really interesting. We keep getting tiny bites of information of what kind of a person he used to be throughout the show and I definitely think it would be a great idea to see what made Tommy , Tommy . His experiences and feeling !
Adrien Brody and Tom Hardy both are quality actors and they brought a BIG star feel to their characters. They were both suberb in their roles. (Kind of sorry to see Solomon survived though. As much as I loved the character, I like dead characters to stay dead.)
astro boy Yes, I agree. He is a good actor, so the cringeworthy Marlon Brando impression was unnecessary and distracting. Loved Tom Hardy, made me laugh out loud in his exchange with Adrian Brody.
I love the idea of a spin-off. Whereas I loved the Shelby family - I also think we've seen what was there to see. However I *love* how it ties into real themes from history and the effects on people from all walks of life. And I do so as much as some of the characters portrayed on the show. I'd *love* to see a few seasons on the Solomons family, or, even more so - the Changretta's in NY. A 1920's and 30's New York city crime drama centered on Italian Mobsters, rise of the Five Families, Capone on the side... With a terrifying Luca Changretta by Adrien Brody? Oh yes, please.
We just started watching this show on Netflix and absolutely LOVE it! I knew nothing about Cillian Murphy, but I am now just fascinated by him. So talented and so beautiful. His character is one of the best I have ever seen in this type of genre. Amazing. All of the other actors as well, top notch. I don’t think they need big name “celebs”. They are smashing it with the cast they have! Incredibly talented bunch!
This series caused me to binge watch the entire series from beginning to end. I wonder how much actual film would be left if they took out the pouring of whiskey and Thomas Shelby's lighting of his cigarettes ? Bwahhhh !
Great series. I like how the writer Steven used the real events back in time and added the fictive part and the drama and the psychological evolution. Cillian Murphy is just awsome. Loved that show and looking forward to season 6. Dont let us wait a lot
What a great show! We've become fans down here, in a small country. Very, very gifted crew of actors, Steven Knight has done an awesome job! And this RU-vid review is absolutely amazing, you've embraced everything. And, no, please, don't end the show abruptly! We're looking forward to another season, please!
Did he do that too? I'd love another series too, dark and moody with fantastic characters, costumes and settings as well as great acting and of course Tom Hardy. Yes definitely more Taboo please!
Thank you for the reply,Sir.Knowing this, you might be part of the production crew.Music section?I do know for sure"Il Maestro"ain't Irish but wouldn't it be great to get him to compose a "little something"for the show?Too expensive maybe...A bit of pan flute from Gheorghe Zamfir on an Irish theme wouldn't go amiss.
Always thought a good end scene would be the air raid sounding and a shot of each character in different areas reacting shocked and scared to it, except Arthur who has a sinister smile knowing there is another war on the way.
I think Steve knight is right about the peaky blinders still existing after Ww1 because my grandparents (on both sides) used to tell me about their parents and uncles had something to do with the illegal betting on horses. So he definitely has a point. I also found it strange how my great grandparents wedding rings had an excessive amount of diamonds in them But there was no way they could have afforded them as they were at the lower end of middle class. So it can’t have been made up
I speak English but I still had to watch this series with subtitles on. The accents at times are so thick, also they occasionally use some slang that you probably don't know if you're not British yourself. I probably could understand 80-85% of what they were saying but for the stuff I didn't get, subtitles were the answer to that problem.
I draw such a connection between Peaky Blinders & Boardwalk Empire. Similar time period and the the cloths ,cars, furniture and attitudes of past poor people and their fight to get ahead . both are excellent !
Agreed. Loved boardwalk empire and was always well taken with the suits and style in general which is something replicated in peaky blinders. As you say both great series, great writing and great characters with bucket loads of style.
I wouldn't mind seeing Bill Nighy in Peaky Blinders. After you hear that voice as Rattle Snake Jake, you know he could be a f****** terrifying guy! Christian Bale could do a hell of a job as well
All accents accentuate when under pressure or excited ! Only ''Albert'' Naoilz the sound - Cillian & co swing in and out, often ending up somewhere in Scouse, 70 miles up the road. More effort required here, but a truly magnificent series, notwithstanding.......More.
I think one of the reasons the show got me so hooked was that I didn’t really recognise any of the actors so I didn’t doubt that Cillian Murphy was Tommy Shelby for example. Idk if that makes sense but yeah I don’t want to see anyone really famous on the show💕💕
I started this in Netflix on a whim cause the title was weird never heard of the gang before. Fell in love with the actors all So handsome and everyone does a great job with the accents .
That was a bit cartoon gangsters as the film was quite humorous whereas peaky blinders is much more serious and darker so Pitt's gypsy role while great in snatch wouldn't work in PB. If Brad Pitt did appear (which I wouldn't be against) then I think it would be best all round if he played an American character.
I am with Steven Knight, it's not that I hate prequels (I think sometimes prequels can be done well, like Better Call Saul) but the fact remains that it can be a limiting factor when you already know what happens much, much later, at the very least you have to worry about accidentally retconning something.
THANKS A LOT FOR THAT ,I was wondering if all that was true and if they were really elegants how they appear in the show, great work by Steven Night, a genius✌👏👏👏
It’s a perfect mix of great regular wonderful actors and done so well. Please do not sully it with so called superstar cameos of brand name screen actors. Please keep it pure. I love this program. Keep it going original and strong. 👍👏✌️💖
Kate winslet as a love interest for Arthur would be cool. Maybe John Travolta.... he has gypsy eyes. lol I have watched the whole series 7 times and can't wait for season 6.
I was born and raised in Tyseley the area Next to Small heath where the actaul BSA factory was I used to play on the canals as Child's and they have done a great job replicating it
Would be great to see the WWII evacuees depicted. My mum was taken from a bomb shelter in London at age 6 and taken by train to the Country. It was six years before she saw her family again. She wrote a book SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW about overcoming the trauma of growing up in war torn London in the late 1930's.
