Great job! Three questions if you wouldn't mind. 1. How far can you open the door? More than 90 degrees? 2. I want to have my carpenter do this but I worry that the slats on the right edge of the door will hit the slats on the wall (adjacent to the door). Yours seems to avoid that. Did you do anything to keep that from happening? 3. Did you spray paint or use a brush? Thanks so much!
Door only opens 90°. The slats are 3/4” thick, so the gap to the next slat is a bit shy of 7/8. That way the slat in the door fits into the opening. Otherwise it would bind. There are different options out there if your slat gap is smaller. Let me know if you need more info
the effect is amazing. This is exactly what I would like to achieve. Could you tell me how to solve the problem with the door handle? I would also like it to be on one side only. Thank you!
Could you also send a link to the lock that is in the door so that it can be opened this way. There are door handles on both sides everywhere and I don't know how it is solved. Maybe you have a video somewhere how it is done specifically?
Few questions please , 1. What about the door handle/knob for the out side of the door ? 2. what if it gets locked from inside ? how to open from outside (keyhole) pls reply
This looks stellar, and congrats on the build! Building one out as we speak, and if you wish I can share videos when it’s completed! Couple of questions, what angle is the top door cut beveled at? What product of cabinet finish did you use? Aside from sugatsune e190 interior hinge, is there any other hardware that is needed (ie magnetic push latch)? Cheers
It’s a Sugatsune push latch but i use it mainly as a magnet. To make it a push it’s harder to make seamless. So to open you must pull a slat. Door is beveled at 45°
What kind of handle do you use to make sure it closes solid but isn’t visible from the outside? All I can think of is a cabinet clicker type thing and a bolt lock on the inside?
Do you use a deadbolt for the inside or some sort of latch lock? I’m winging it for the first time and figuring it out as I go. Door is in great, just figuring out how to add a lock (for a bathroom) and also wondering how to position the panels so they don’t rub when it’s open
@@aroundtownsneaks9626 I used a single sided deadbolt from emtek. It will open to 90° if your gap is bigger then the piece. So let’s just say your slat is 9/16, your gaps would be 5/8
It’s all about the right hinge. These are only 5/8 slats. But I use sugatsune e190 hinges. Depending on thickness and how it’s put together, you could mount the slats and then router out for the hinges too. Would have lots of clearance. Lots of variables
@@patrickdoyle1087 no. I pay just over 100 a hinge, Canadian. They’re taking advantage of you. Contact sugatsune Canada on Instagram. Mention you saw a top notch video and went to purchase some hinges. You don’t buy in bulk, but I can’t see them over 150
This isn't really fakeable using editing software. Maybe you could try to blend in the seam after the fact but I'm not sure why he would try to impress a few sceptical internet strangers. And I have one question for you: What is photoshop used for? (Hint: It's in the name)
