Ha... remote start worked on my 16 RC 350 F sport man. I was trying to figure it out for a loong time until I came across your video. I always wanted a remote start, had no idea had one for seven yrs hahaha. U da man!!!
Respectfully, I highly doubt this feature worked on your vehicle. This function is not available anymore since Lexus is no longer allowing 3g signal and is outdated.
Thank you SOOOO much!! They just terminated the Lexus Enform app on my year/model and I was looking for an alternative way to remote start the vehicle. Your advice worked!
will the sleep mode work on my 06 is350? I work security and a few times the key is in my pocket I move and accidently set the alarm go to get out and my alarm goes off which can be embarrassing hehe
When I do remote start on my 18 is300, when I go to unlock whether that be using the keyless entry or the unlock button, the engine just shut off for some reason. Any reason this would be?
@@Chen-sAuto hold is different than stop and start system. when ever i switch it off. once i started engine again it turns ON by itself which is annoying
@@MrAlrayhi Lexus doesn't have an engine stop and start system, HOLD is a similar feature, should be off each time you start the vehicle, please check local dealer to fix
I’m super impressed with ur video & also appreciate those hidden stuff on the key. But when u start the car with the key the moment u open the door the engine goes off
yes, it's the safety pre-setting, picture that you drive the vehicle with the engine already start, and realized on the middle of trip of till destination that you forget bring the key with you
Let's just say you remotely start your car and while you are in the house someone jumps into your car... they can't drive off with it because the engine will be disabled as soon as they open the door.
@@curlyalsal How can they do that if the car doors are locked? To remote start the car you press lock three times, therefore the car will be locked. How can anyone get in the car without having the key?
@@curlyalsal To be honest I think this 'security feature' makes no sense. I have a Tahoe which I can remote start, when I unlock the door and get into the car the engine and AC will keep on working but the rest of the car (e.g. instrument panel, gear stick, etc) will remain off unti I press the start key (which naturally requires me to have the key). Only after starting the car will I be able to drive it.
Hey Rich, I try the remote start on 2017 lexus es 350 it's not starting. What can I do to start my car from inside? its getting cold in Maryland. I'm just now seeing your video and great video by the way.
2017 might not have this feature, but I heard some guy by pass the system to start, click lock - unlock - lock - lock -lock and hold 3 seconds, maybe works,
Is there any feature that when you turn off the car the seat will automatically back up all the way and the steering wheel moves up which allows for easy exiting of the vehicle
Remote start works on my 2018 IS 300 Fsport! Yay! First, I unlocked the car with the remote, let the lights stop blinking. Then I press the lock button 3 times, on the third press I hold it. Hope this helps someone.
Auto start does not work on the ES350 2017 as shown in your video. Lexus wants a monthly fee for this feature to function using one's smart phone and key fob. Then, the engine turns on but shuts off when you open the door. Not a good feature.
Will the Seat memory feature work for separate fobs for example if my wife uses her fob will it remember her seat setting vs when I use mine? Also what I have both programmed fobs in the car which will it default to?
Hello Matthew, yes, ideally the memory will link to the key fob, and will memorize each of your setting position, you have to keep one fob per time when you setting. in case both of you sitting in the vehicle, there no default key, the system will follow the last person's key fob as default.
I have a 2016 Lexus is350, I’m not able to use remote start on my key fob after the 3g network shut down, is there I can do to make the key fob start the car since I’ve had this feature working before?
@David-ri3hi You get the enform remote subscription standard for 3 years. Yours may still be in effect. After that you need the safety connect which is standard for 10 years. The enform subscription runs the remote start and other features through the Lexus app. The remote start with the key fob will work under the safety connect subscription.
Thanks for sharing, Richard!! My Lexus App on my phone got Health & Alerts (Keyfob low). I changed new battery, but didn’t goes away. Any suggestions?? Thanks.
The one thing I hated about Lexus was that you could only turn it on through your phone, I had no idea the lock button on your key could turn it on, and changing it so all doors unlock at once was also very convenient, thank you
You cannot set the timing of unlock from your key. The relock setting can be found in the system settings under the door lock section. This feature is activated only when you forget to lock the doors after unlocking them.
I enjoyed the video. My vehicle is a 2010 LS460 model. I used to have a smart trunk button, but one day it suddenly stopped working. I would like to know how to set the trunk opening in Smart. If you know how to set it up, please let me know.
Hello, there might be a few possibilities causing this, the major reason is there is a control button linked to the system that possibly switched off to manual mode, if you press the key and hear beep twice, very possible is this reason. otherwise, could check with garage
Hi I have a 2016 gs350 how can I reset my memory seat it because when I turn the car off my seat goes back won't stay in the same place any advice thank you
One question; if I can put the key in sleep mode wouldn’t this in theory prevent the thief relay problem. Since the key is asleep it shouldn’t be recognizable until a hard key is pressed. Am I correct here?
Have these car manafacturers not really think about making the car remote battery rechargeable, even in these days when we now have wireless charging, or they cud create or integrate a port that recharges the battery within the car as well as external USB chargers if so.
@@Chen-sAuto I meant if you’re relying on your phone instead of a key fob and your phone is lost or stolen you can’t drive your car either. not so much that if your phone was found they would be able to steal your car
This doesn’t solve the far more serious problem with the passive key fob door unlocking. It’s very easy for organized criminals to steal a keyless fob vehicle. One criminal holds a key fob relay box close to your home to pickup the signals from the key fob inside your home. The relay box retransmits the key fob signal to the car. The other criminal simply opens the unlocked door, starts the car without the key fob, since the relayed key fob signal is accepted by the car. The criminal then drives the car to a shipping container. Then the shipping container is shipped overseas. If the auto manufacturers were serious about preventing auto theft, they would give customers the option to disable the passive key fob unlocking. Then you’d have to manually press lock or unlock on the key fob, instead of using the highly vulnerable to theft passive key fob door unlocking.
I actually bought a anti relay box online that you put your Lexus key fob into and the key cannot be read by the relay box. Buy them online for $10 or more if you need a bigger box.
What if you don’t have batteries in your key fob ? What if they’re dead and you have no where to buy them at? You’re shit outta luck. It makes no sense to me that we can’t even turn a simple key in the ignition anymore out of push start convenience . Doesn’t make sense if you ask me
if the key fob has no more battery, you could start your vehicle without any issue, just put your fob in front of the start button, press, and go, there is a sensor behind the start button, even there is no more battery on the key fob
depends on the model year, normally at the vehicle setting from your multimedia screen. for the 2015 and older models might need connect with dealer's computer
this feature belongs to the newer model after 2020, if you use the key fob, the connect distance is short, and you have to stay in an arrange of 20 meters of the vehicle to activate
@@Chen-sAuto mine is a 2017. It used to work when I was on the free trial when I got the suv brand new. Since I didn’t renew the app services the remote start on the key fob no longer works. I’m thinking I need to have the paid app service to have the remote key fob to work.
@@DubKc At the end of the video he explains: you press and hold the lock button then press two times the unlock button. The red light will flash four times and go to sleep. Press any button to awaken key.
The sleep mode is important since two of my neighbors had their Toyota and Lexus cars stolen at a Home Depot parking lot. Apparently there are receivers these crooks have that will read the signal from your key fob which continuously sends out signals to your car. So I put my key fob in sleep mode all the time now
now this is why hate lexus. There could be a couple of reasons for that. First, it's not available in Canada. Second, it only works when you have this Lexus car subscription (forgot how it's called) which has a trial period of a year(?) and later it costs money. I don't understand why it's linked to a subscription. If you want to have a remote start, lexus/toyota has a separate remote start kit that costs ~$1000 cad. Also, it's a separate key fob. It's sucks tbh.
I mean how to dissable this hidden feature to link key with seat? I did and it works but now i want to dissable it. To make that key doesnt take any action on seat memory. I have rx450 2016. Thanks
I have a 2016 es350 I'm wondering do I have remote start & how to activate if possible. I pressed that Lock button 3x's & held the 3rd one for 5secs but it doesn't start. Do I even have it on this model?
Per Lexus How can I use Remote Engine Start on my Lexus? On 2015 and newer Lexus vehicles equipped with Enform Remote* and SmartAccess2 key fobs, Guests may remotely start their Lexus vehicle one of four ways to allow Lexus vehicles to warm up in the winter or cool down in the summer, all before driver and/or Guests get in. 1. SmartAccess Key Fob 2. Lexus App 3. Amazon Alexa-enabled devices 4. Google Assistant-enabled devices
Hi Richard. I could use both the remote and the app on my phone to start my Lexus rx450 at a distance. However, the engine turns off by itself when I open the car door which defeat the whole purpose of remote start (especially on a hot day) can you do a video on how to keep the engine on? Thank you.
@@Chen-sAuto this is actually a good reason. I drove once without the key in the vehicle for 30 minutes to my destination. Realizing then that i had forgotten the keys at home. This feature would've saved me the hassle of going back home. Plus it'll prevent a stolen vehicle! Good thinking Lexus!
I've tried it with my lexus nx 300 and it works. Really amazing feature! It would be even better if a key fob would switch into the battery saving mode after you press a button but I'm asking too much :)
Hi , I would like to put in Off mode the access system with electric key on my Lexus NX 300 2018 , to stop the signal from my car to my smart key , Can I do this ?
