When I researched 7-Eleven in Alishan, it seems that there are three. Each elevation is 2050m, 2178m and 2200m. Looking at old information, the altitude of the highest 7-Eleven in Taiwan was 2050m. On the website dated 2022, it was written that the 7-Eleven at an altitude of 2200m is the highest in Taiwan. Yesterday (June 4th), I saw a RU-vid video called "Currently Hannah". Hannah is Australian and lives in Japan. She recently went to Taiwan. I watched her latest video (Taiwan's Most Beautiful Hike - Jiaming Lake) and was blown away by the beautiful scenery. As she said in the video, Taiwan is about the same size as Kyushu and has 268 mountains over 3000m (Japan only has 21!). Also, Japan's highest mountain is Mount Fuji (3776m), while Taiwan's highest mountain is Yushan at 3952m! I think that the charm of Taiwan is not only the delicious food, but also the wonderful nature.
I'm surprised that Taiwan is so much more mountainous than Japan, yet so much smaller! And thank you for checking out the 7-11 thing for me. It must have been an outdated website I was reading. 😊😊
This is the real life! You walk through the days together is can not use money to measure! Your feelings are enviable!! Wish you continue to go on, I will continue to pay attention to you!
Love Fenqihu! One of my favorite places in Taiwan. I've been eating those donuts for years. There's a place called Fenqihu Old Street down the hill a ways that serves great locally grown coffee. Glad you enjoyed!
I like your in-depth way of traveling Taiwan such as FENQIHU. This is the right way to discover the beauty of Taiwan. Didn't you find that there were no other western tourists while you were strolling at FENQIHU? You were maybe the only western couple at that day. There are a lot of places like FENQIHU for tourists to find out. This is why you can come back to Taiwan again and again and each time you will still find something amazing!😀
@15:31 "OK+150"? That's the roadside mileage tag to show you how far from the beginning (or the end) of the trail to the current position. You've finished the first zero kilometer plus 150 meters. Way to go!
The idea of surprise stinky tofu hidden in a dish is terrifying 😂 Glad that wasn't the case. Also, are you two using gimbals now? Footage is super smooth! 😍
Right?! Stinky tofu could be lurking around any corner. 😂 😂 We DID make some equipment changes - thanks for noticing! 😁 A new gimbal paired with a camera, and a 2nd new camera. I don't think we're changing again this year. 😂 😂
As a Taiwanese, I can confirm that the highest 7-11, along with the highest convenient store in Taiwan, is the one in Alishan at 2,200m (there are two 7-11 in Alishan, the one in the bus terminal is 30m lower). However, the one at Fenqihu was the highest when it was opened in 2005, it is also the 4000th 7-11 store in Taiwan.
There’re more than 6,800 7-11 stores in Taiwan. If other brands such as FamilyMart are included, the total numbers of convenience stores in Taiwan exceeds 13,000.
Great video! I also enjoy Heather's detailed descriptions of what you saw and how you felt on the hike; especially about the foods you tasted. You are bringing us along on your journey! Also, I like that you took the time to enjoy each site you visited, as opposed to just rushing through it. I think you will be a great travel show host! Now I also want to go to Fenqihu! I have never been there myself and I am from Taiwan! Now it's on my list to visit!
The elevation of Fenqihu 7-11 is about 1400 meters, which is lower than the 7-11 at Alishan, at 2200 meters (7217 ft.)! So the latter is the highest convenience store in Taiwan. The +300 means exactly that: how long (in meters) you’ve walked (added) so far. You should’ve seen 0 at the beginning of the trails.
-0K+300 means zero kilometer plus 300 meters into the trail. -Some Taiwanese count years in Republic of China years alongside the Gregorian calendar. Year of 111 is the same as 2022. Just add 1911(when ROC was founded)
Thanks again 4 the suggestions for our family summer vacation. I hope U2 haven’t done too much damage to your clothing budget. 😂. Take care and have a great time in Taiwan.
Taiwan has been a hidden gem of Asia. It’s definitely worthy of a visit. Just to give you a heads up, it is quite humid and hot in Taiwan like most south Asian countries in the summer! Over than that, you will for sure enjoy visiting Taiwan!
Tea. If you guys like tea, don’t miss tea. Taiwan’s soil and climate is perfect for tea, especially high elevation tea. Tea culture is huge in Taiwan. 7-11. It’s every where. The island has one of the biggest concentrations of 7s. Suggest looking up all the possible services they offer.
Speaking of Bento boxes, if you are still in Taiwan, you must try TR Bento(台鐵便當)in Taipei Main Station 1F/B1!!! Only costs NT60 then you can have a hearty meal.
Alishan is the main growing area for wasabi, a naturally occurring plant that is naturally spicy but naturally mild. However, the wasabi used in many Japanese restaurants is a chemically produced product that is only spicy and has an artificial flavor.
14:27 19:13 I think it is the White-eared sibia singing here. You might hear a another one during your journey, it is called Taiwan yuhina, sometimes they sound similar, however Taiwan yuhina sounds a lil bit ... tiny? I would say lol
19:00 It says it’s gonna be done in July this year(112) Also I really recommend you guys go to Jiufen if you haven’t been yet, it’s my favorite town in the north!
有趣的影片,我是台灣人來學英文的XD 挑戰不看字幕,聽你說英文 Interesting video to learn English, I am a Taiwanese Challenge not to watch subtitles and listen to you speak in English.
