Several rolls of raw footage have been smuggled out of the studio, and they clearly show armature construction and the initial sculpting stages of… something? Seeing the armature and measuring forms you used, it makes me realize you spend a great deal of careful focused planning before you even come into your studio. Please, someday, let us see over your shoulder into your sketchbook and decision making process. Watching you work out problems is so, so interesting. And besides...I still want to know how you decide which idea gets the full treatment. I promise to let my jaw hit the floor quietly. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mahalo

Thank you so much for watching! You are correct, there is a lot of planning and prep work done before I start pushing around clay. In fact, I even sculpted several small models/maquettes of this mug to aid me in the drawing/planning stage

Agree so much with this! Being privy to the artist’s creativity at all stages of development is incredible… I simply adore these videos as windows into creativity so much beyond my own, but also something to inspire me as well.

Looks like a Moai of some sort to me! At first I thought it was a shipwreck, an overstuffed banana, a carved banana, and finally, a Moai! I love Moai's! Can't wait to see more! Lisa

These are my favourite videos of yours, it's so satisfying seeing the beginnings of the clay sculpt. Not going to bother trying to guess what it is as I'd probably embarrass myself, I don't know anything about Tiki beyond what I see on your channel. Is there a specific name for the tool you use to cut up the monster clay at the beginning? I use the hard stuff too and it takes me forever to get working with.

Thank you so much for watching!! Believe it or not, I’m cutting up the monster clay with a heavy duty paint scraper/putty knife. It works well - but I’m coated with sweat after cutting up a whole box 😂
