Question about algo trading: What are the biggest disadvantages/cons of algo trading - why isn't everyone billionaires like Jim Simmons was - what are common pitfalls? In fact, being billionaire/ sustainable for decades isn't even a concern right now - What problems cause people to fail to make their first dollar with algo trading (excluding luck). I'm excellent at math, quantitative problem-solving, and love financial markets/trading. Hence, it seems like a perfect fit for me. But I wanted to ask this question before getting my hopes up too much.
great question! algo trading has tons of potential, but the biggest cons are often linked to over-optimization, lack of adaptability, and underestimating market unpredictability. even if you're solid at math and problem-solving, the key challenges can be in handling market anomalies and emotional decision-making. what's your strategy for managing the emotional side of trading?

I watched your video and I thought about the concept, how it would be to use the HMM in a generic way with a heuristic? What are your thoughts about this way? I’m not smart than Mr. Simons, but it’s an idea.
@@moondevonyt - I already picked a time frame of 20 years back. The model should pic only pic the election years and especially check for conflicts, special market conditions and the interests rates. We can continue with a detailed approach
