Wow. She was a gold medalist and olympic chamion and now just a year later she can't keep up with the less experienced gymnastics students. Practice really does make perfect.
MsZeldasaga she wasn’t an Olympic champion but was really good :) she is probably a bit struggling because she put on weight since she retired. She can have lost a lot of flexibility because of injuries not only because she didn’t trained. A lot of gymnast have injuries when they train for Olympic’s.
She's still young and can achieve a lot more. I wonder why she decided to retire. I was a cheerleader and somehow we also have certain gymnastics moves. Didn't stretch for a few months already made me rust. Haha
I was a Rhythmic Gymnast, still a Cheerleader & in RG you retire pretty young because the sport does tend to take a toll on your body (unnatural bending, over use of muscles over time, etc). I retired at age 17 because my body couldn't take it anymore & I knew I have had enough. From what I know in RG most retire around age 20 if you are an olympian (18 if you just do provincial & national level) but if you can hang on then that's good :) I'm the same age a yeonjae so she held on pretty long. As for cheerleading although it's also hard on the body, it's a doable pain and not as intense as RG. You don't have to be really flexible, but you sure do have to core strength and endurance
I think this show really shows that ballet is really not an easy sport(?).It really requires years of training and more training. Many people's image of ballerina are those in beautiful poses in pointe shoes. In reality, years of training is required even before your legs get strong enough for pointe shoes.Personally,I got my first pair after 8 years of training.I hope this show really corrects those misconception that people have and of course dont follow those steps without professionl guidance!!Be safe
never feeling the things you love to do is one of the painful feelings one has to go through... especially when you used to do it on a daily basis... then one day after you retired, you went to that event you used to compete and upon looking, you can feel your blood surges and your spirits high with indescribable feelings like a tidal wave crashing inside you... then you starts reminiscing the good old days wishing you could turn back time... (sigh*)...
if only Myname Insoo not in military duty at this time, he could appear in this show, he was a ballerino before, isnt he? he said he was Son yeonjae's instructor once for ballet, hee
gymanstic must be really pressured her so much that she left them for about a year without training or even trying do little gymnastic. if she didnt came to this show, i dont know when will she start again.
omg the camera can't even show her dancing properly, it either zooms in on her face or her feet. It's so annoying because you need to see the whole thing in order to see and understand the dance. ewwwieeee
