I almost missed this video because I was still watching the Mazačka live. I always avoided the shop on this street because I thought they were too touristy, but I now will try them the next time. It is always useful to know of the good places. I also love the Patreon mini guides.
I have been to Prague 4 years ago and before visiting I found this channel, and watch it till now. But most unbelievable thing is our meeting in the bar 🙃Can’t wait to visit your city again. With love from Russia ❤️
Thanks! I wish to believe we still have the “old vibe”. It’s still us, still 2 friends with a camera who love their city and want to help others to enjoy it. Happy you liked this, hope you’ll like the new ones! 💛 Honza
i love this channel, ive been to prague 4 times very much looking forward to my next trip. i live just over the border in bavaria thank you for this its great!
The streets two or three blocks away from the main tourist route are often worth exploring in my experience. I paused the video to check your backpack and found out that it's a cool Prague based company who makes them - maybe they are worth a video one day!
We ate at Havelska Koruna in May 2019 when visiting my son in Prague. It was delicious, but I accidentally got the slightly spicy meal. Ooops! It was still good, the beer made it better.
2015: Arriving from Berlin at a bus terminal, I was accosted by a "plain clothes policeman" asking for my passport. I suddenly smelled a charlatan and asked for his ID in manner questioning his authority. He just walked by as if nothing happened. Does this still thing happen there? What happened to that bell at St. Havel? I am sure there was an original one since all church have one! And I just subsribed. I miss the Czech accent from watching Czech films ---usually that definitive tone towards the end of a statement/sentence.
Hello bro.. Can you share the locations which i can sent greetings card to my country from Prague on free of cost. I had seen that place before in one of your videos i think 🤔
How can we purchase your book? People who are complaining about “advertising” please, if you don’t wish to view don’t “Czech-it out!” Sorry, the humor is in my genetic code I’m Czech!
I have bad memories of Havelska Koruna. When I was visiting Prague few years back, I stepped to this place, and disgusting tourists were sitting there with their dirty feet on the tables :/ commenting "Hey look at all those blisters on my feet". I never visited this place again.
That is absolutely disgusting. But you should still reconsider going there, since it's arguably the best restaurant in Prague. Also make sure to go there in the evening since there is noone there.
When you are telling people who subscribe and watch your channel about the good and the bad in Prague, then be an ambassador for the good and your business. Saw you at the river bar, you were not filming nor busy, I acknowledged your good reviews and what did you do... You were irritated and simply said, this is not me and when I made a second complimentary comment, you just glared at me and walked away .... You should behave in a different manner towards your followers. Pot calling the kettle black...
None of the places ever paid us. All of our videos are sort of “commercials” - we try to show our viewers great places. But they NEVER ever paid us. We choose only those that we like - hence the HONEST Guide. It’s hard to explain via a comment but I’m very comfortable writing this. We always pay for our food or drinks - that’s what we do. We’re showing good places because we want to help them and to you - viewers and visitors of our city. Honza
@@HONESTGUIDE ..oh go on then ..Will subscribe again..I love Prague..lost count of times we visited.. But try to show beautiful city instead of businesses
Im pretty sure if I went to a cafe across from my K-12 school I would neither eat or enjoy myself. I still have nightmares that I failed math and have to repeat 12th grade....and I graduated in 1982.
It was really nice to see you by chance and be in the video with you! Go and buy the book guys!!! It made my Erasmus in Prague journey way better and beautiful :) thanks to Honest Guide! - the girl in yellow jacket
The shot of the menu board for Havelská Koruna made my eyes well up with tears and chills run down my spine. My favorite cafeteria in Prague. I miss it SO MUCH!!!
We’re working on “What we lied about” video since the previous one was deleted… hahah, just kidding, sorry about that, it was just a simplifaction of an idea.
02:29 I know what those hooks are. They are for attaching a tether to waitresses who try to escape. Of course, these are relics from years and years ago. Waitresses don't run away as often any more.
You’re right, it’s part of the “What would we change if we had the power to” episode. Things changed from then and currently it looks like this, only very small part of the space is used - as shown in the video. We’ll see where it goes from here.
Not a "hard core", its a "lither episode" but looks like a "treu honest guide episode". :) Janek looks like, smiling like a school boy whos ate ice cream for the first time in his life. ;) :P :D - Best wishes and hugs from Hungary (Pécs, not Budapest).
This episode is super interesting to me because in the 2 years I have been living in Prague, I avoided this streets because it is usually so full of tourists and the market has some tourist traps. But now I am more than intrigued to stroll through it next weekend to have a closer look
The biggest square in Praque, the Wenceclas square (45.000 m2).................just found out that it is not. How about the Karlovo Namesti (80.550 m²)?! Or am I being a nerd about this......
Oh my, this video just blew my mind when I saw the dish (Rajská) you orderd. My grandmother used to make this dish so many times for me, exacty like that and I kind of always thought it was only her creation. Now I know, that it is a real Czech dish and I kind of feel stupid but also amazed. She comes from the Sudetenland by the way, so not to wonder that she knew how to cook this. Thank you for bringing back this small memory of my childhood Janek. I really want to make this dish again now, need to ask my mum for my grandmothers recipy for her "bread dumpling" , which wie call "Ködel" in Germany.
The hubby and I love finding side streets, and we will definitely look for this one when we arrive next week. Thanks so much for sharing your little treasures of Prague with us!
I was at Havelská koruna with my friends when we were in Prague with school. We wanted appropriately prized meal (hard to find in capital city) and found this on internet. I was surprised I found it in this video 😃
I met you on this street one night! 2019 in the fall I was going to foggy prague and I bumped into you on accident (sorry) but that made my whole night!
We have been there 2 days ago and we couldnt see any hidden street. It was so clearly one of the most populer street in prague center. We had been there each time when we were crossing that street to city center :)
I made rajská for the first time yesterday after watching this. I had ignored it because of the way it is snubbed in Pelišky. (The little sister complains about having it again toward the start of the film). It’s quite good.
So calm and quiet. Guess the pandemic enforcements are still in place. Can’t wait for the world to open up again, and make that trip to beautiful Prague!
My friend and I went to U zlatého slona today and it was horrible. The food was fine but the owner/manager is dishonest. He made a big deal about how service charge wasn't included as he printed out a receipt that said 230czk for my order of pork knee, when clearly it was 220 on the menu. When I questioned him about it he had a shady look on his face and said it was for the bread. I didn't order or get any bread?? He quickly said "ok 220 then." 10czk isn't a big deal but it's the principle of the matter. Obviously I didn't tip him anything for trying to scam me and the overall rude tone that's way beyond normal Czech service. Maybe it's okay if you're a local Czech but visitors please avoid this place.
